"Why would we want to save them? Like.. ever?" Alya complained. "They put us into all this trouble, why should we get them out of it?"
"That What I all myself every day." Percy mitered under his breath. Annabeth gave him a death glare.
"Because we have to. They could easily turn us into rats or something." Annabeth folded her arms in discomfort. "Or Spiders.." she shivered. "Gods I hate spiders."
"Well is they are really that powerful, then why not set themselves free?" Luka Asked.
"Yeah?! What the heck?" Violet joined in.
"Because they are selfish that's what! They probably find joy in watching us run around like chickens with their heads cut off! And as soon as we get to.. wherever they are.. they'll lash at us in all our effort for nothing!" Marinette argued in anger.
"Chill out guys!" Annabeth made every body pause. They looked at her as of her next words could either curse the end of the world or start a new one. "It's simple. Once a Good has been captured, their powers are drained. That's why they rely on us demigods to save them!"
"Then why not have the other god who, might I add, are much more experienced and powerful the us?" Max had a scientific tone of voice. "If were being honest, these goons are being kind of... Hmm.. what is it?"
"Salty!" Kim finished.
"Eh whatever." Max Pouted.
"Well- I Mean... Well uh.. Marinette is right, they do like watching us fail and mess up, it's like a game for them." Annabeth gave in finally not able to take ally more of this rant.
"Let em die!" Said a stranger and heals up His spear. "Right? Let em die!"
"Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die!" They started chanting. More and more joined in as the chant continued, raising spears and swords in the air to emphasize their point.
"Stop it!" Annabeth tried to simmer down the riot. "I said so it!"
"Let them die! Let them die! Let them die! Let them die!" They continued. Annabeth looked around as more and more of them joined in. Even Percy!
"What the duck Percy!" She slapped him across his face. "Try and help me here!"
"Sorry Annabeth.." he said sheepishly. "Alright guess that's enough! You're kinda right though." He said the last part under bus breath.
"Let them die! Let them die!" They kept going. Percy furrowed his eyebrows.
"Hold on Annabeth.." he guarded her behind his back. Percy then raised his arms like a holy being of a sort... na... more like Moses. Water came crashing up from the sides of the indoor broken bridge of Emily's catacombe. Like the splitting Red Sea, high and mighty, the waves roared high into the sky. "I said THAT'S ENOUGH!" He yelled and the waves twitched, threatening to fall. Everyone stopped talking. They started on aw at the waves high above them in fear they would crash.
"You mean to say I could have done that this whole time?!" Lungs interrupted the dramatic silence. "Holy-" he was interrupted by a splash of water spewing at him from the wall of water. Percy grinned at him from afar.
Letting his arms fall, the water did to. They crashed back into the bed from whence they came, slacking every one while they were at it. "You good?" Percy asked Annabeth.
"Only soaked in sewage." She grumbled.
———
"This way guys!" Percy lead the way out of the mansion. The whole hoard of people followed him, expecting great things. But far in the back is where Marinette and Adrien sat. Well, walked. Adrien has tears in his eyes.. or massive he did but it was hard to tell nectar he was soaked in sewage. But Marinette could most certainly tell something was wrong. She kept glancing at him, trying not to make it obvious. But he saw her worried looks.
"What." He said flatly, looking at the ground as they continued on the voyage from his house to somewhere.. they didn't really know where.
"Hmm? Oh I- I wasn't staring at you! I mean! Uh... I didn't look at you safer face! I mean sad! Are your dad? I mean are you sad!!! Sorry." She slowly grew quieter. Though Adrien didn't think he could, he began to load at her tripping on her own words. She was so cute when she did that, he always thought.
"I'm fine.."
"No your not!" Marinette explained a little louder than she intended. "I mean.." she got softer, "you don't look fine. I mean.. you always look nice! Your very handsome! Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes. You did." Adrien chuckled again. She was a blushing hot tomato at this point.
"Ah fiddle sticks." She felt her own brain crashing into the oblivion. "What I Man to say is.. I can see something is wrong. I can see it in you, Adrien. So tell me. I'm your friend am I not?" She said remembering all those 'she's just a friend' moments.
"... you're more than a friend." He stated.
"Wait what the butt?" Marinette actually fell this time, but he caught her. "I uh.." her mind broke.
"Yeah. Over the past couple weeks I think we've grown allot closer Marinette." He rubbed the back of his neck. Marinette looked at him with stray eyes. Could this be the moment she waited for her entire life? Adrien, and her, soaked in smelly sewage, him confessing his love for her, and then she would tell him how she felt, then they'd get married live on an island with three kids and a hamster.
"R-really?"
"Yeah.. you're one of my best friends Marinette!" He smiled. Marinette felt her heart deflate.
"B-best f-friends.." she went sorrow.
"But um... I..." He was thinking about telling her he loved her, if it wasn't obvious to her already-
"I LOVE YOU ADRIEN AGRESTE!" Sur aurais out of pure nowhere. Adrien first with wide eyes.
Ok.. so she just said that. Adrien didn't no o how to react.
"I uh..." he looked at all the faces looking at them. Actually mist of the people were just walking anyways. Not giving a Hoover dam about it. Some of them looked at them in shock or annoyance. Apps looked at them like her world was finally coming together, or like Marinette was god.. which she sorta was... "I love you to. Marinette." He replied and heals her hands fondly.
