wAshen's POV:

My blade clashed with the old man's yet again, the flames covering us flaring with the shockwave sent out. We had only been battling for a few minutes, yet I was still getting a little fatigued. I also felt the difference in me and my opponents skills. I had lived for centuries and experienced many things but I still felt young when looking at this old man, for whatever reason.

I gripped my blade and rushed forward with as much speed as I could, the ground cracked from my legs pushing into the stone beneath me. I raised my blade to my left shoulder and brought it down with as much force as I could muster. The old man blocked the blade with his own, flames blasting from behind us both and swathing the arena in our respective flames. The old man still had his left hand behind his back as if he were mocking me, this would be his greatest mistake.

His eyes visibly opened a little as he saw my blade had been hiding my pulled backhand. In my left hand was a long piece of golden energy, crackling with power. It was a familiar sensation this one as if I was holding a piece of the sun itself within my hand. I pushed my left upper body forward and hurled the spear at the old man at point-blank range. A massive explosion blew apart the ground before me and I was blown back slightly.

As an extra part, I flicked my outstretched pointer finger down and another pillar of lighting struck down on the old man's position. I stood as the smoke cleared, huffing lightly after using my energy on that sunlight spear. I smiled under my mask at my handiwork, believing that I had defeated the old man. How wrong I was.

No one's POV:

Ashen's eyes went wide under his mask as the figure of Yamamoto stood in the clearing smoke. Yamamoto held his katana in his right hand pointed at the floor and his left hand was raised to the sky, smoking lightly. He had blocked the lighting pillar with his hand. Ashen couldn't believe this man had blocked the pillar with his bare hand. Then Ashen took note of the slightly charred piece in the midsection of Yamamoto's chest. Ashen sweatdropped as he realised that Yamamoto had not only blocked the lighting pillar with his hand but also blocked the sunlight spear with pure muscle.

Time Skip: Same place

Ashen and Yamamoto's flames clashed once again, the heat surging around them as the tempest of flames encircled them continuously. They had been exchanging blows for the previous hour and neither was giving any ground. Yamamoto's scarred body still stood tall and he barely looked fazed or fatigued. Ashen on the other hand, despite him being covered by his warped knight's armour, you could tell he was getting more and more fatigued as the battle went on. Seems becoming more human had also reduced his stamina a fair amount, nice for him to know.

Ashen swung his great blade and met Yamamoto's flame encased katana with a violent shockwave. Despite both sides being covered in flames, anyone watching could see the difference in the flames signifying who was where. Yamamoto's were a bloody red while Ashen's cackled with a faint golden light. The two fighters blades stayed locked and Ashen raised his left hand behind his head.

Golden energy crackled between his fingertips and Yamamoto was forced to jump back as a blast of lightning smashed into the ground he had been standing moments before. Ashen held his left arm loosely and then moved his greatsword over his shoulder, taking a ready stance. Time to finish this lengthy battle now was the time that would decide whether Ashen won or lost.

Ashen's left leg moved downwards as his right leg slid backwards and he crouched down. Ashen's grip tightened on his hilt as he bent forward lightly. He tensed every muscle in his legs, drawing their strength out to the limits. In a smooth motion, he moved his greatsword to the left side of his rib cage and gripped it tightly in both hands, pointing it straight at Yamamoto. Ashen pulled it back and tensed every other muscle in his body, straining them to their very limits.
