Ashen's POV: Beacon infirmary
I awoke with a start, my heart pounding and sweat coming from me for the first time in my remembered life. I didn't know why I was so spooked, but my eyes were wide and I began to look around my room. I found myself within a small cubicle surrounded by white curtains, my armour sitting at the end of my bed and my sword resting against the side of my white-sheeted bed.
I then noticed a figure sitting beside me, they were draped with a white Haori and wore a black robe underneath. It was an old man, Yamamoto Genryusai. As I looked upon him I felt my heartbeat pick up and sweat starts to drip from me. I then remembered what made me feel an unfamiliar feeling, for the first time in many centuries I had felt fear. In a single moment, facing the flames of this old man had given me such a feeling of hopelessness that it scared me.
I had tasted hopeless odds before, but this man's power was just so overwhelmingly fearsome that I couldn't bear it. But that was the thing, I remember staring down his flames as they came forward, a tsunami of sheer power that I was sure to die. So then how was it I still lived? I finally noticed that the old man's eyes were open and he was staring at me, his hands resting upon his warped wooden cane which I learnt held his strange katana.
I slowly calmed myself by taking deep breathes, using an old method taught to me by a mentor figure I meant on my old journey. The old man seemed to notice my calming as he said something which surprised me, "My apologies, child, as I seem to have frightened you. It was not my intention to go so far and I give my sincerest apologies." The fact that he apologised twice was strange to me, but I noticed something within his eyes, it felt like... regret?
It was strange, Ashen was not used to seeing regret in his opponent's eyes, but remember the image of inevitable death descending upon him, Ashen felt as though he knew why the old man was apologising. Placing the pieces together as he had seen the eyes of thousands that had killed him before Ashen pieced it together. He had died. Ashen sighed, this would take much explaining.

3rd POV: Ashen and Yamamoto
Yamamoto nodded whilst stroking his long white beard thoughtfully, it was most certainly a strange story. A world of death, death and more death which most certainly sounded unpleasant. Yamamoto had struck a conclusion as he heard this man's story of burning for eternity after linking this world flame, and that conclusion was that Ashen's will power was stronger than steel for not going insane from this world.
Yamamoto also realised that the boy's strength was much like his own, earned from endless battles and as such he felt a type of kinship to him, especially because they both wielded flames. Ashen had his eyes downcast, remembering his experiences had not been pleasant, not after his experiences so far within this new world. Yamamoto stood stayed there before he asked a final question, "So, this thing that revived you, this bonfire, do you know why it is in this world?"
Ashen turned to Yamamoto and replied with, "I'm afraid I haven't the slightest clue as to why it has appeared, without a first flame to hold its powers in place it should be non-existent... yet it is not." Yamamoto nodded in thought before looking at the downcast face of Ashen and deciding to direct the conversation elsewhere. "Well, I do believe I will have to go this headmaster to be reprimanded for going too far, but no matter, I will leave you to get some more rest. Excuse me," Yamamoto stood as he finished and turned, now slowly walking out even though Ashen knew he could probably get to the Headmasters office in an instant.
As Yamamoto left the infirmary Ashen took to laying down and resting his head, still somehow feeling drained. The moment Ashen lay his head atop his pillow and shut his eyes he fell into a deep sleep.
