The Billion Dollar Deal

Chapter 2

Cassia’s POV:

Aunt Millie told us to be ready by 6pm. It was 5:30 now and I had just finish dressing Emily. She was wearing a white dress with black polka dots and light gold colored flats. She was carrying teddy around as always. Ironically teddy is actually a bunny rabbit. (Picture on the side) By the time I looked at the clock again it was 5:43 and I needed to get ready fast my Aunt is always on time and that never fails. I quickly slipped into my dress it was one of my nicer pieces of clothing. Its white with these cute little pick hearts all around and pink top and waist band. I quickly ironed my hair straight which didn’t take long since it was still straight from the day before. Just as I was putting on my pearl white flats the clock hit 6 and my Aunt walked in the door.

“How was work today.”

“Same as always. We had the usual clients till around midday then everything got slow until after lunch. Lucy told me to let you know that you should stop by she has something she wants to talk t you about.”

“Okay I’ll stop by tomorrow after me and Emily go to the park.”

“Sounds good, are you guys all set to go?”

“Yup.”

“Alright lets get going.”

We got in the car I strapped Emily in her car seat and we were off. Within 20 minutes we pulled up to a restaurant and my jaw nearly dropped. This had to be one of the nicest places I had ever seen and I knew it was way more than we could normally afford. That made me wonder what in the world could be so important that my Aunt is bringing us to such a fancy place. When we walked inside the first thing I noticed was the aroma coming from the kitchen it was like something I had never smelled before and made my mouth water at just the scent. We were immediately greet and seated at a table in the middle. I couldn’t help but feel so out of place with my clothes an shoes I quickly looked down and away from all the stares.

“Aunt Millie why are we here?”

“Well I was going to wait until after we ordered but, I am too excited. I have some wonderful news for you.”

“For me? What is it?”

“In two weeks time you will be starting your Senior year at High School and I know that you have been worried about what will happen after you graduate. I know that you want to go to college and money is tight right now but, I knew I had to find a way for you to be able to go to college and pursue your dreams. So I did some research and spoke to some of your old teachers and with that I found a solution. This year you will not be returning to your old High School, instead you will now be attending The Brillington Preparatory Academy!”

It took me a few seconds to process everything my Aunt had just said and suddenly it hit me how in the world is this even possible. Brillington Academy is the most elite in the country not to mention how expensive it is. We sometimes barely had enough to pay our rent let alone a private schools tuition. How did my Aunt even accomplish this?
