The trio walks into the great hall, all now dressed in their robes. "Hey Lupin. You look nice. Want to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?", an arrogant piece of shit Slytherin asks. She smiles sarcastically. "You know.. I'd rather shove a razorblade down my throat and sing the entire history of magic book to Binns." Oliver and Percy chuckle, as well as every other student not from Slytherin who heard. The boy glares at her as they walk to their house table, Olivers arm wrapped around her waist tightly. "What an idiot...", he mumbles. "I know. As if. His teeth are so crooked you might think a toddler played puzzle putting them in his mouth." Of course they are talking about Marcus Flint. Captain of the Slytherin quidditch team. Other members that before had flirted with Helena at least once included Graham Montague and Adrian Pucey.
Terence Higgs was the only one in the entire team she could tolerate. The now final semester student indeed was intelligent and they had shared more than one good conversation.
The three sit down and immediately anxiousness creeps into Helena's body. "Come on. Please.", she whispers, squeezing Olivers hand she simply had grabbed. "He'll be here. Don't worry." Still she could barely sit still. Finally the first years are led into the great hall, following behind McGonagall. Helena scoots closer to Oliver who simply wraps an arm around her, placing a peck onto her temple. Normally this would work but not this time.
"Herminoe Granger?"
"Gryffindor!"
She can't even force herself to clap..she just stares.
"Hannah Abott?"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Ron Weasley?"
"Ha! Another Weasley! I know exactly what to do with you. Gryffindor!"
"Susan Bones?"
"Hufflepuff!"That's when she spots the messy black curls she had been looking for. "Harry!" Her voice could be heard through the entire hall as tears well up in her eyes and she jumps to her feet.
McGonagall looks in confusion as the girl sprints around the house table.
"Harry!"
"H.. Helena?!" Shyly the scrawny, short boy pushes his way towards her. She runs over to him and wraps him up in her arms, lifting him up with a laugh. Her eyes filled with tears of joy. The boys eyes tear up as well and he buries his face in her neck. For the first time 10 years the Potter siblings embrace each other. Her one hand cradles his head, the other gently rubs his back as they gently sway. His hands are clasping onto her robes as his body shakes from the tears of joy and pure and utter love. He was not alone after all. Helena leans back slightly and cups his cheeks in her hands. A laugh leaves her lips, before she presses a kiss onto his forehead. The entire great hall holds their breath. They are confused. All together they are horribly confused. Even the first years.
That's why her next words immediately shoot through their spine.
"You look just like dad, you know that? Just the eyes. They are from..."
"Mom. I know.", Harry says, wiping his eyes dry of tears. Or attempting to do so at least. Helena laughs softly, trying to help him, while she herself can't stop crying if it would save her life. "You really visited me in my dreams! I knew I wasn't crazy!" "I was. Its just that I can only take as much form as you remember. You didn't remember my voice. That's why I could never speak.", she says, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. "They said you were dead." "To them I probably am.", she says and pulls him into another hug. Completely wrapping him up in her embrace. Not even Dumbledore himself finds any words to describe his surprise. He honestly forgot that Harry had a sister. He didn't recognize the immense similarities between her, Lily and James Potter. And Harry of course. Her last name being Lupin he just pushed it aside as her actually being his daughter. But she was Helena Lily Potter all along. The only teacher not shocked is the silently glowering potions teacher. He doesn't look like it at all but just watching them breaks his heart. Siblings meeting each other for the first time in 10 years, only because the death of their parents had torn them apart.
"Miss Lupin.. What is the meaning of this..?", McGonagall asks, softly, almost too close to tears herself to break up the siblings clinging to each other. "I'm sorry, Professor. But I haven't really seen Harry in 10 years... I couldn't stop myself.", Helena says, still hugging her brother. "I understand. But please let us just quickly sort him into his house. Then you can leave for a moment, if you'd like to." She looks down to her younger brother, a soft smile on her lips, as she wipes away a stray tear on her cheek away. "Are you okay with that?" Drying his eyes completely Harry pushes his glasses into the correct position, then nods. "Yeah. Sure. Standing a few steps aside Helena waits impatiently until the sorting hat finally speaks up. "Gryffindor!" The whole table cheers, but Helena the loudest, bouncing up and down, applauding him. They hug. "We are in the same house, Harry! I'm so glad." "I am too.", he beams and then follows her towards the table. Her arm wrapped around him, her fingers gently ruffling his dark curls. They slide in between Percy and Oliver, whom Helena sends a thankful glance, when he rubs her back and gives her half a hug. She wraps her little brother up, breathing in the scent of home as she rests her head onto his. And silent tears leave her squeezed shut eyes. She had her baby brother back. And she couldn't be happier.
