As Helena enters the great hall in between Harry and Ron Weasley, an arm wrapped around both of them, the two first years happily chattering with their older housemate, she earns a whistle from the Slytherin table. One she recognises. Immediately her eyes connect with the blue orbs of Terence Higgs who stands in front of the table, facing her. "Go on, boys. I have a friend of mine to visit. Ask Percy or Oliver for help if you need anything.", she smiles, ruffling their hair before hurrying over to the tall blonde Slytherin, giving him a hug as he simply lifts her up and carries her over to his usual spot, while she just keeps her arms wrapped around his neck. He sets her down and then drops onto his bottom next to her. "So.. Explain please. Are you really Potters sister?" Immediately the whole table falls silent and all stare at her. "Yeah. Though we didn't grow up together. I ran away two months after living with my aunt and uncle in favor of living with my godfather Remus Elliot Lupin, who I turned out to adore so much that he actually became my father. And to show that I took his last name. But I was born a Potter." He gently moves her legs into his lap so they sit closer together. So.. Sorry if I ask this. I'm just really curious. How did you survive the attack?" "It was late at night. And I was sleeping in Harry's room. The first crash woke me up and activated my magic. I have always had problems about just randomly levitating around but that night it saved my life. After all.. Who looks for a child on the ceiling?", Helena says, resting her head against his shoulder. "So you saw.." "Everything. From my father just falling to the floor, suddenly his skin being translucent and pale to my mother holding Harry in her arms and protecting him from the curse, the life leaving her eyes to him trying to kill Harry and not succeeding. Instead just fading into dust with a horrifying screech. I don't remember much after that. I just know me and Harry were left at my aunts doorstep. I remember wishing I had fallen from the ceiling and died with my parents. I remember lots of crying and the nightmares. Waking up on the ceiling. Not being able to come down gently. Instead just falling down. And I remember my adoptive dad just appearing in my bedroom one night and leaving with him. Without a word to my aunt, uncle or anyone, really." During her words she had taken his hand, clutching it tightly. "I shouldn't have asked. I'm sorry." "No. Its alright. I like to talk about it. Its always better to face your fears, instead of swallowing them down and choking on them eventually." "Are you sure you're not actually meant to be a Ravenclaw?" Helena let's out a laugh. "Maybe.. I'm fine being a Gryffindor though." He gently tucks a curl behind her ear. "Hey listen.. I wanted to ask you if you'd.. go on a date with me. I wanted to ask you for one a while now but never had the guts to do so.." Helena blushes. Her entire face turns red. "What? Me? I.. I honestly don't know what to say.. I mean.. The only date requests I ever got were jokes.." "This is not. I swear." She smiles. "You know what? Sure. Next Hogsmeade weekend?" He nods. "Would it be bad if I want you to wear green?" Helena chuckles. "No. It goes with my eyes I guess. Merlin's pink fluffy socks! Its almost time to go to class. And I haven't eaten a bite. I have to go. See you then. And thank you for listening." She quickly pecks his cheek, leaving the boy to get all flustered and red as she sprints toward her house table, quickly shoving a sandwich down her throat. "You really want to date a halfblood?", somebody asks the blonde seeker, giving him a dirty look. "I always knew she was a halfblood. Also.. Its my decision and my family doesn't really care for blood purity. Halfbloods are okay. They just don't want muggles amongst us, because, if you know anything about wizarding history, muggles once decimated and banished all wizardry, leaving only very few wizarding families alive. That's why my family doesn't want them near us. We tolerate them though.", he sighs and ruffles his ashy blonde hair. "I'm getting too old for this shit." He downs his coffee and then leaves the great hall without eating any breakfast. A fact that makes a certain 15 year old immediately narrow her eyes and quietly make a nice cream cheese, salad, ham and cucumber bagel she then packs into a small paper bag she makes out of a spare coin she had laying around. Finishing her breakfast by downing her coffee as well she hurries after him. "Terence." Finally he stops and turns around. "Catch!" Throwing the bag at the trained seeker with her good quaffel arm he catches it skillfully, opening it, then stares at up at her. "Don't mind them. You know your housemates best. Its just how they were raised. See you later." She waves and then sprints down into the basement for her first lesson of the day. Potions with her favorite Professor. While Terence bites into the bagel and sighs. "She even knows my favorite toppings..", he mumbles to himself, blushing, chewing while walking off to his first lesson. Herbology.
Helena meanwhile has entered the classroom. "Good morning Professor Snape.", she chirps, earning an sort of amused look of the man. "Did somebody put extra caffeine in your coffee? I haven't seen you this happy in quite a while." Helena grins. "Something like that. I was asked out on a date. Somebody wants to actually date me?" "One of those horrible Weasleys? Or even your friend quidditch captain Wood?" "Nope. You'd approve, Professor. I'm sure. Its Terence Higgs." "The Slytherin seeker Terence Higgs?". Helena nods with a laugh. "Who else?" Snape nods and turns to his ingredients shelf. "I do very much approve. I believe Higgs will look out for you well!" She nods and smiles. "Thanks.. Uncle Severus." The man immediately turns and looks at her. Shocked. "What did you call me?" "I remembered a while ago. I dreamed about that night again. You were there. And you held mom. I know you loved her a lot.", Helena says and smiles softly. "So you are as close as I'll probably get to an acceptable uncle."
And just like that the stone cold man melts. Without any hesitation he embraces the girl. "Thank you. But please promise me to never tell another soul of that.", he mumbles. She nods. "If I have to I'll take it to the grave."
