Chapter 44

As the week flew by, Toni and Cheryl planned everything for the twins surprise birthday, the brunette just hoped that drama won't happen just for the sake of her kids. Veronica, Betty, and Clair parked their car in front of the Topaz household at eight AM. "Good morning," The trio said in unison as Toni opened the door.

The brunette laughed. "Is this rehearsed?"

Clair giggled, "Not at all! Where are the twins?" She said as she entered the kitchen followed by the blond and tall brunette.

"Considering it's a Saturday, they are still asleep."

"That gives us time to prepare the banner and food," Betty stated. "Where's my sister?"

"She's still asleep," Toni said with a smile. "I didn't want to wake her up."

Betty nodded, "Let's get breakfast ready."

The women nodded as Toni started to take out the ingredients out of the fridge and disturbed the tasks on all women. It took them an hour to finish the pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Toni excused herself and went to wake her love up, she smiled when she saw the redhead asleep on her stomach in the middle bed as her hands were on her sides. The brunette made her way to lay down beside Cheryl as she caressed her finger across the redhead's back. "Baby?" She whispered into her ear as she kissed Cheryl's temple. "Baby, wake up." The redhead didn't respond, she just shifted in her sleep and turned to her back. The brunette placed small kisses on the redhead's jawline. "Cher? Honey, breakfast is ready,"

The redhead justed opened her eyes a little and gave her love a smile. "Good morning,"

"Good morning indeed," Toni said as she leaned down, kissing Cheryl's cheek. "Go get ready, your sisters and Vee are here."

"W-What time is it?"

"It's nine, the kids will wake up soon,"

The redhead nodded, "I'll be right down, honey."

Toni smiled and left the room to make her way back to the kitchen, she poured herself a cup of coffee and sat on the stool.

"Is something wrong sis?" Veronica asked after a few minutes as she noticed that her sister was deep in thought.

Toni shook her head. "I'm just remembered the day the twins were born."

"Do tell!" Betty exclaimed.

Flashback

It was Monday night, and Toni was on her way home after a long day at the office, her phone rang and noticed it was John who was calling her, "Is everything okay John?"

"D-Diane is in the hospital, her water broke twenty minutes ago."

"I'm on my way," She said as she hung up and took a turn to the hospital. It took her half an hour till she reached. She ran through the hospital halls until she spotted John. "Is she alright? Where is she?"

"They are prepping her for an emergency c-section, she doesn't want to give natural birth,"

Toni sighed, "Where is she now?"

"In that room," He said pointing down the hall. Toni nodded and ran to the room that John pointed to, she entered to find Diane in bed and holding the sheets as she hissed in pain. "Hey, are you alright?"

"Do you think I'm alright?!" Diane yelled angrily. "I'm about to give birth!"

"Okay!" Toni said, "Why don't you want to give natural birth?"

"Because I don't want to!"

But before Toni could reply, a nurse entered the room. "Excuse me, we are ready for you."
