Two Weeks Later-Peter's Side
He was going to lose it.
Morning, afternoon, and evening they gathered in Charles's cramped office, trying to come up with a plan to find Layla. Cerebro had been their only hope, but that failed. Charles searched day and night, until he came to the realization that she could not be found. There had been one option Peter suggested, but no one entertained it. Knowing Layla couldn't be found using Cerebro, tore Peter apart. He felt he was reliving the accident that happened back in Egypt. He was helpless once again, and he desperately wished he hadn't left during their argument the night she disappeared. With another week having passed, Peter was getting fed up. His patience was wearing.
Outside thunder rumbled in the distance, seeming to express the anger he held inside. Dark, ominous clouds began to cover what was left of the sun's bright rays. Looking up, he listened to everyone throw in useless ideas again. There always seemed to be something wrong with an idea that was pitched, and time wasting. There was one option that could help them, and Charles knew it, but he chose to ignore it. He warned Peter about the warning and side effects of that option, be he didn't care. It was time to take action, or Peter was going to take matters into his own hands.
Peter sped in front of Charles's desk, staring directly at him with his arms folded. Everyone in the room quieted, directing their attention to Peter.
"Yes, Peter?" Charles asked knowing what he was going to ask.
"We have one option left." Peter grit as he placed his hands on his desk, lowering himself to Charles's level.
"Peter, the mind is a fragile thing." Charles began thoughtfully with caution lining his tone.
"I. Don't. Care." Peter seethed, gripping the edges tightly. "Layla's life is on the line, and all we do is stand here, getting nothing done."
Charles sat up in his wheelchair with his hands folded across his lap. "What do you suggest I do?"
"You know what needs to be done." Peter said icily.
