"It's been ten years, since the discovery of mutants, as well as, that attack at the Paris Peace Conference, and the attack on Washington, which was caused by the mutant male known as Erik Lehnsherr. Both attacks were caused by these...mutants and both attacks were horrible, but a blue female mutant, everyone refers to as Mystique, saved our country's president, and put a stop to Erik Lehnsherr. Now, I don't know about you, but personally, I think that what this Mystique woman did, was great and-"

"Now, I have to disagree with you on that! These-these mutants-are a threat to humankind! They are-"

"Nope. Don't care." Layla said in a bored tone as she turned her TV off in her room.

Layla had been flipping through channels trying to find anything to get her mind off the conversation she had with Hank, and she couldn't stop thinking about Peter. He had been on her mind a lot, recently. Hell, he was always on her mind, but for some reason Layla couldn't shake it as easily. She knew it was because of these news reports on the attack in D.C., which was caused by Erik, who just so happened to be Peter's father. Stepping away from the TV, Layla slipped on her headphones to her blue Sony walkman, and pressed play, while she tried to remember what song would play next on her mixtape she made. Memories Fade by Tears For Fears played, and she kept it on that, while she tidied her room.

There's only need

I love your need

So much I'm losing me

I cannot see the reason for the pain

With hungry joy

I'll be your toy

Just hoping you will play

Without hope my body starts to fail

Memories fade but the scars still linger

Goodbye my friend

Will I ever love again

Memories fade but the scars still linger

Layla stooped down, picking up her pile of books that were scattered beside by her bedside, and as she did so, her mind began to wander, thinking about Peter and Erik being his father.

"I think...well I don't think I know. Erik, aka Magneto, is my father." He finished turning his brown eyes to her. His eyes looked at her with uncertainty, awaiting her reaction and response. Layla knew why he was nervous to tell her. Especially, after what he did to get him in prison, and the chaos he caused in D.C. However, after they broke into the Pentagon, Layla knew deep down, there was a connection between Peter and Erik. After all, he had blurted that his mom knew a guy like that. However, the conversation never went further than that, and Erik had disappeared according to recent reports. Layla never pushed, since he never pushed with her.

"I know. Well, I assumed that was the case when we were all stuck in that elevator." She shrugged.

Peter cocked his head with confused eyes. He opened his mouth, but shut it, thinking about that day. "Oh, I guess I did say something. Must have forgotten. A lot happened that day." He said quickly.

"It doesn't make me think differently of you, Peter. Nothing will ever change that, 'kay? But, why didn't you tell him if you knew?" She asked a bit curious.

"I don't know...it's a lot. I mean maybe it's not. Does it seem like a lot?" He asked seeking her help.

"At the time, yes. But overall, yes because we've both heard stories about him. But how bad is he? He left D.C., and has remained quiet. If you're his son, he should know, but I can understand why you're not ready to tell him either. You haven't seen him at all, and he may not even be aware he has a son." Layla replied, folding her arms over each other.
