"So, we're okay again? Sirius asked Skye, sounding uncomfortable for once in his life. Skye laughed at him, and Sirius grinned awkwardly. "Yes, we are. Just don't punch my boyfriend again, okay?" "Okay." Sirius smirked, winking at a passing girl. The two had talked for ages, until Sirius told her the reason for him and Rob fighting was because of the drinks table. "Long story short" he had said. What Skye hadn't noticed was the way Sirius stared into her eyes and hung on almost her every word. But he was Sirius Black, he had reminded himself afterwards. He didn't chase girls, girls chased him. He was not some starry eyed romantic that fell for people, it was, again, the other way around. And it would stay that way.
"What do we have now, padfoot?" James asked, hurrying over, his cape trailing behind him. Skye rolled her eyes- "Who cares?" She wasn't in the mood for classes. "I agree." Sirius said shortly. "D'you want to head to the lake?" "Nah, it's too cold." Skye answered. James' hazel green eyes flicked between his two best friends. "Hogsmeade?" He asked. Sirius' eyes glittered mischievously- "Definitely." He took Skye's arm and they ran back, avoiding McGonagal's classroom on their way back to the common room.
"Skye, hurry up!" Sirius laughed over his shoulder. Skye smiled and ran faster, to the top of the stairs. She was turning the corner when she smacked straight into someone, and sent books flying everywhere. She tripped and fell, smacking hard on to the ground. Brushing her hair out of her eyes, Skye looked up and saw a smiling Remus looking down at her. "Thought I might you three up here." "Moony!" Sirius exclaimed, coming back down towards them. "Where's Peter?" "In class, apparently. Where you should be." Remus tried to look stern, but couldn't help the amused glint in his chocolate eyes. "Lighten up, Moony." Sirius said, holding a hand out to Skye. "No way." She said, gripping his hand and hoisting herself up. As she jumped, her chunky yet graceful figure collided with Sirius, pressing them to each other. Sirius smirked at her. "Wow, Skye, never knew you thought of me like that." Skye narrowed her large blue eyes at him, stepping back and picking up the books that had fallen. "I don't." She replied shortly. Sirius felt his heart sink just a bit, disappointment making him sag, although it was just a joke. "Your supposed be in divination." Remus told them. "Moony!" James greeted, coming down the stairs. "Hiya James." Remus nodded at him. "We were off to Hogsmeade. By the one eyed witch passage." James informed him. "Do you want to join us?" Skye asked. Remus looked uncomfortable- His constant battle of being with his friends or staying in class. He shifted on his feet and looked down. "I've left Peter at the door to Professor Trelawne's room though." He said quietly. "No worries. You should get back to him them, we'll see you later." Skye cut in before James and Sirius could complain and make Remus feel worse. He turned and walked slowly away, heading for class like the good boy he was. "The one eyed witch passage?" Skye asked and James grinned goofily, turning away with the invisibility cloak under his arm. "C'mon." Sirius smirked, grabbing her small hand and running with her down the halls."It's freezing." Sirius complained, shivering under his cloak with James beside him. Skye rolled her eyes and stepped away from Honeyduke's. She pulled out three chocolate frogs and they walked to the Three Broomsticks. "What? Skye your only wearing jeans and a jumper, you must be freezing!" James exclaimed. Skye laughed, shaking her head. "No James. I've told you before, I'm not bothered by the cold." "But it's freezing! Halloween was ages ago! It's really winter now! It's starting to snow!" James was, as usual, over exaggerating. The snow hadn't begun to fall yet, although frost covered all surfaces now. "I'm immune to it." Skye shrugged, ducking beneath Sirius' arm as he held the door open for her. "Thanks Sirius." She smiled at him. The three of them grabbed a table by the window, near a Christmas tree by the fire. "Is that because of your whole ice thing?" James asked. "Keep it down! Yeah, I think so." Skye informed him, shrugging. After ordering butter beer, Skye took out three chocolate frogs and gave them to the boys. She smiled and dipped the chocolate into the frothy drink. "Ew!" Sirius shrieked, jumping back in his seat. "You look like a cat." Skye smirked, knowing that would wind him up. Sirius frowned, sitting down properly and straightening himself. "It's disgusting!" "It's not!" "It's horrible!" "It's lovely!" Skye and Sirius argued back and forth as James watched them- smirking and sipping his butter beer. "Look, you spilled it!" Skye exclaimed loudly. It was true, Sirius had spilled the butterbeer everywhere on the table. He rolled his eyes, grabbing a nearby cloth and mopping up the table. "C'mon, let's go." Skye laughed, pulling the two boys out the door and walking back up through the town. "Let's go to Zonko's!" James suggested, and they walked towards their favourite joke shop.
