"Neither do I, sometimes Lily." I reply smoothly, causing a few giggles and laughs to go up around the crowd. "SOD OFF, ALL OF YOU, WILL YOU?" I yell at them in fury. The bottom of my hair frosts over completely and people begin to back off slightly and leave in straggles of twos and threes. Snape struggles on the floor in the body bind curse. "Leave him alone!" Lily says loudly, her voice calm and clear, but there's a seething anger underneath it as she rounds on James. She pulls out her wand as she faces him. "Ah Evans." He smiles casually, but him and Sirius eye the wand warily- they know Lily is one of the best witches in the school, she could hex them into oblivion, quick and all as they both are. "Don't make me hex you." He grins at her. "Take the curse off him then!" Lily demands with a quick gesture to Snape. "Sirius, hurry your ass up or I'll do it!" I bark at him from beside him, but James and Lily are too preoccupied with each other to notice. "What?" Sirius rounds on me. "I thought you hated him just as much as-" "I don't hate him! Besides, he's never done anything to you." We turn back around with folded arms to face James, who is grumbling as he takes the curse off Snape. "Your lucky Evans was here Snivellus, or else-" "I don't need help from filthy mudblood's like her!" Snape shrieks, standing up and desperately trying to shrug on his green robe, his back arched, his hair messy. My eyes widen, as do James' and Sirius', Remus' and Peter's, and all the other people who stayed nearby. Lily, surprisingly, takes the insult the best of us all. She blinks in surprise, her head jumping back slightly. Her eyes flicker up and down Snape, regarding him cooly. "Fine." She says calmly. "Fine. I won't bother in the future. And I'd wash your pants next time if I were you, Snivellus." She spits with distaste. James seems to take more exception to it than Lily does. His hazel eyes widen from behind the rim of his circular glasses. "Apologise to Evans!" He barks in annoyance, his was pointing at Snape. I take an angry step froward, my hair completely frosted over at the bottom. "I don't want you to make him apologise!" Lily snaps, turning back around to face James. "Your as bad as he is!" "What?" James gasps, wide eyed. "Merlin, James." I sigh, face palming. "I'd never call you a.. A you-know-what!" He defends. "Tell him that's not what her problem is because-" I start to tell Sirius with an eye roll, but Lily cuts me off. "Messing up your hair because you think it's cool to look like you've just got off your broomstick, showing off with that stupid snitch, walking down corridors and hexing anyone who annoys you because you can- I'm surprised your broomstick can get off the ground with that fat head on it! You make me sick!" She rants, before spinning on her heel and leaving with a flip of her red hair. James gapes after her, wide eyed, before turning to Sirius, who stands beside me looking almost as shocked as he does. "What is it with her?" He asks in annoyance. "Reading between the lines, mate, I'd say she doesn't like you." Sirius says with a laugh. "Gee Sirius." I say sarcastically, turning to him. "Where'd you figure that one that?" James is furious by now, and turns to Snape, who, with a flash of green light, is up in the air again. "Right. Who wants to see me take off Snivelly's pants?" He says with a sneer, causing people to gather around again, smiling and laughing. "Honestly James! Put him down!" "Didn't you hear him?!" James asks me with wide eyes. "He called Lily a.. A.. And that means he called you one too! Your the same!" He says in disbelief. "Yeah, but that's not for you to fight with him for! Let him go, don't you think there's been enough of this today?" "No!" Sirius exclaims. "What? What's wrong with you? Remus!" I turn to him. "Come on! Don't be such a bystander, tell them to stop!" A ripping sound behind me causes me to tear my eyes away from Remus, who had been looking at me with sadness in his brown eyes. Snape's pants are ripped right down the middle, causing people to giggle and point. "Oh grow up, all of you!" I snap at them, facing James again. "James. Sirius. Put the asshole down, this isn't your fight. It's between him and Lily." "And you!" James butts in. "Put. Him. Down. Or I won't speak to again. Do you want me to remind you what happened the last time I decided to stop talking to you?" I ask, raising my eyebrows and my voice. James sighs and whispers to Sirius with a smirk on his face. Sirius sighs, rolls his eyes, and nods. "Fine." He grumbles, flicking his wand, causing Snape to topple in a heap to the floor. I step closer to him, and his black eyes lock with my blue ones. "Don't ever speak to Lily again, you disgraceful, pathetic excuse for a boy!" I seethe. "Leave me alone, mudblood." He hisses. My eyes widen, eyebrows raised, and my fist darts out, connecting with his nose. A satisfying crunch meets my ears and I withdraw my fist to see blood dripping onto his mouth from his nose, running down his pale face. He stares at me and narrows his eyes before turning and walking back up to the castle, alone and bloody. I turn back to the crowd of people and see James and Sirius looking at me, Remus and Peter behind them, all four Marauder's wearing matching expressions- shock and concern. "Are you okay?" Sirius asks with care in his voice. "Don't talk to me, Sirius. Piss off, all of you."
