A/N: I added a few things to this chapter, just for the sake of the story, I hope that's okay!:) Hope you like it!

The sun is beating down by the time I finally find my book in my room and head out into the grounds. The Black Lake is back to its glistening old self, with the giant squid lounging lazily on top of the clear water. If it wasn't for exams, I'd ask the boys if they wanted to go swimming, but I knew that Transfiguration would be a difficult exam. I turn the corner to see small clusters of people gathered near the lake edge, close to where I fell in the time it was frozen. It landed me in the hospital, granted, but there was something about the memory that made me smile. Nothing about the scene in front of me makes me smile though- I pick up my pace and tuck my book under an arm. James and Sirius are staring intently at a thin, dark haired boy, who is pulling his wand out. If I didn't know better, I'd have said the boy was a third year- he was skinny and incredibly scared looking, barely recognisable. But I'd know the face of Severus Snape anywhere. "Impedimenta!" James yells with a flick of his wand, and Snape is rigid, his wand gone. I roll my eyes and walk over to Remus as a few people start to look interested. "What's going on?" I murmur to him. "The usual." He says without looking up from his book. I turn and dump my book on the ground, walking over to James and Sirius. "James!" I yell, my fists clenched, my hair frosting over. I can be mean to people, particularly Snape, but I don't approve of bullying a defenceless person who did nothing. James ignores me. "How'd the exam go, Snivelly?" He jeers with a smirk. "I was watching him, his nose was touching the parchment!" Sirius says loudly, a small crowd gathering. "There'll be great grease marks all over it, they won't be able to read a word!" He exclaims with a sneer. Some people nearby laugh nervously, some loudly. "You.. Wait! You- wait!" Snape is seething, struggling against the invisible bonds. "All right, James, now that's enough!" I tell him, although I knew that when James Potter gets on a roll, there's little that can stop him. "What are you, his mother?" Peter asks me with a small, nervous glance at James and Sirius. I roll my eyes- poor Peter, anything to get a reaction out of James and Sirius. He shoots me an apologetic shrug, a sorry smile. I glare back at him and narrow my eyes- I do not approve of fake people. "Remus, do something!" I tell him quietly, turning to him. Remus looks up and meets my eyes. "Like what?" He asks me helplessly. He's stopped Sirius and James before, but it's never been as bad as this, and he knows as well as I do that he can't shut them up. "Wait for what, Snivelly, what'r you going to do? Wipe your nose on us?" Sirius asks with a bark of laughter. Snape hisses and curses as them loudly, still rigid and struggling. "Sirius, don't be so immature!" I yell at him as people start to laugh more easily and openly, whispering and pointing. Sirius glances at me, meeting my eyes. I raise my eyebrows as if to tell him I mean it, but he just smiles at me and waves. "Ugh!" I groan, seething. "You should wash out your mouth!" James says with cool, mock surprise as Snape continues his stream of hexes and swearing. "Scourgify!" He yells, causing bubbles to erupt in Snape's mouth, practically choking him. "Leave him ALONE!" A voice yells, splitting the air like a whip. James turns in.. Fear? But soon smirks and ruffles his dark hair with an easy shrug. "All right, Evans?" He asks casually, as if this is a regular occurrence. Lily glares harshly at him. I sigh and walk towards her, pushing my hair back from my face. "Lily, calm down.." I start gently. "No!" She tells me, not unkindly. "Leave him alone!" She repeats to James. "What's he ever done to you?" "Well, it's more the fact that he exists, if you know what I mean.." James says easily. "James, please!" I scoff. "Grow up!" For the second time today, he ignores me. "You think your funny." Lily says with the utmost loathing and dislike in her voice. "But your just arrogant, bullying toe rag, Potter!" She spits at James, who, for a moment, looks disheartened. "Leave him alone." She orders calmly, and I feel my admiration for Lily grow. "I will if you go out with me, Evans!" James tells her, seizing his opportunity. "Go on, go out with me and I'll never ay a wand on old Snivelly again." He bargains. I roll my eyes as Sirius walks over to me. "She's really got it in for him, hasn't she?" He asks with a smirk. "No!" I tell him in disgust. "I wouldn't go out with you if it was a choice between you and the giant squid!" Lily tells him, horrified. The group rings with a chorus of "oohh's!" As Lily stares at James in anger. Behind James, I see Snape struggling to his feet as the jinx wears off, grabbing for his wand. "Bad luck, Prongs." Sirius says causally, then an indignant "Oi!" As he spots Snape. He's too late- a flash of green light blinds us all momentarily, and I blink open my eyes to see James clutching his cheek, blood spattering his robes. He growls in fury and slices the air with his wand, and Snape is flung upside down. People jeering, laughing and cheering rigs in my ears and I feel the bottoms of my hair frosting over in anger, my blue eyes narrowed in anger and frustration. The ghost of a smile flashes across Lily's emerald eyes before se catches herself and demands James lower Snape. "Certainly." James complies with a smirk, flicking his wrist. Snape crashes to the ground, a sorry sight, but better than his greying underwear. Before the black haired Slytherin boy can't though, Sirius has him in a body bind curse. Lily, infuriated, turns to me. "I don't get what you see in them, Skye. I really don't."
