Sophie's POV

The doctor told me I had to stay the night in the hospital to watch my vital signs. They say it was from the shock my body was put under, but I know that  they are all still trying to figure out exactly what happened to me.

I felt dead inside. I was all cried out and Vince refused to leave my side. I really don't know what to do. I'm scared if I tell Vince what I dreamt of or saw while I was dead he will think I'm crazy and lock me up so I can never leave.

I'm scared Vince will hate me.

I felt Vince squeeze my hand in reassurance. I looked over and his green eyes were conflicted and shimmering with specks of gold.

"It's not your fault you know," I sighed pushing the button on the little remote hooked up to my bed. The back of the hospital bed rose at an agonizingly slow rate, but it still rose. I was finally sitting up, but the pillows pushed my back at an angle that was not comfortable.

I shifted uncomfortably.

Vince was up in a second. He reached around me shuffling the pillows into a more comfortable position.

"It sorta is," He murmured. His breath fanned across my face and I breathed in sharply. It assaulted my senses making me shiver in pleasure.

"What did you do to me anyways?" I asked nervously. My hand trailed up to my neck. I felt the bite mark scabbing over. It itched like crazy, but every time I put pressure on it a wave of tingles shot through my entire body making goosebumps rise on my arms.

"I'm so sorry Sophie, I wasn't really thinking when I did it," He grumbled into his hands as he ran them over his face, "I marked you,"

"Marked me?"

"When werewolves find their mate they mark them," He pinched the bridge of his nose, "It lets other males know that that female is taken, or has a mate, please understand my wolf wanted to let others know. It wasn't me that did it."

"It wasn't you?"

"No, my wolf took over, he just wanted to let other wolves know that you are mine,"

A wave of warmth spread through my chest when he called me his. I sighed.

"I'll show you later, if you want," He looked at me with hopeful eyes. A grin made its way onto my face. I nodded eagerly at the thought.

I never have seen an animal before. Only the ones that resided in my science books.

He took my hand in his and squeezed. My skin looked white as paper compared to his naturally tanned skin. I guess that's what sun deprivation will do to you.

The nurse came in twice to check on me. She took my blood pressure, checked my vitals, and gave me a well proportioned out meal. It was basically exactly what was on my diet while I was locked up. It felt funny to eat like that again. I ate every bit of it no problem. Only because it was the amount I'm used to.

"Are you still hungry?" Vince asked concerned, "You rarely eat all of your food, but you ate that no problem," A wave of nausea hit me.

"No," I said a little more panicked than I had planned. His eyes widened a fraction of an inch, "I mean no, that's actually how much I'm used to eating in one sitting," I said giving him a sheepish smile.

His jaw clenched for a split second, but it was gone aa fast as it had come.

The day passed sluggishly. I had a few visitors come in and greet me. Carla stopped by to give me some lemon squares which were amazing. Eric had stopped by to talk to his Alpha, even though he said it was to check on me. He talked to Vince about the day's patrols and how the runs were still messed up. Whatever that meant. I had a few other visitors come and say hi to me. Most of them girls and most of them talking to Vince, which bothered me a little bit, but he kept it short.
