Sophie's POV
I was purely amazed, he knew so many stories by heart. He read me story after story. I soon grew tired. I was sitting next to him on the couch as he recited The Little mermaid to me. I felt my eyes slowly grow weaker. I struggled to stay awake to listen to him. His voice soothed every part of me. It made me feel safe and peaceful. I pulled my knees to my chest and fell asleep in the fetal position.
Vince's POV
I continued the story even after she fell asleep, prolonging my time with her. I heard her breathing even out as she fell asleep to the sound of my voice. My wolf loved that. After I had finished the story I slowly stood up and picked her up carrying her to her bed, she curled up underneath the sheets and sighed deeply.
Her cheeks were rosy even asleep and her pale complexion was fair. Her white hair really did make her look like an innocent angel, but she would look a lot better with her natural hair color whatever it is. My wolf didn't like anything caused by 'Him'. My wolf growled inwardly refusing for me to growl out loud afraid that we might wake her.
I sighed. I brushed a bit of hair away from her face before leaving her room closing the door quietly behind me.
I strode through the halls coming to the kitchen once again.
Carla and a couple of her friends stood up abruptly as I walked through the door.
"Alpha, how is the luna?" Everyone was worried for her and that made me proud.
"She is fine, she was just over worked, she isn't used to this." I said solemnly.
"Alpha, what happened to her?" Carla asked softly.
"She has been through a lot. I'll inform everyone soon, I have to set up new rounds, we are setting up a hunt." I said as I turned for the door.
"Who? Who are we hunting for?" A lot of people asked.
"Jim Phillips, bastard is finally going to be taken down." I growled evilly. Jim had been a pain in the past, but we could never find the right crime.
They all were calm, but it had an evil air to it. I put my hands in my pocket and walked slowly into my office. My parent's scent hit my like a wave, my mom's over powering perfume, and my dad's weird cologne.
"Son, we have to talk to you." My father growled lowly at me. I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Old man, I am the alpha, please watch your tone." I said moving around my desk sitting down and propping my feet up.
"Why did you put Rachel in jail? We thought you liked her?" My mom growled lowly, they saw her more as a child than they did me.
"Because she almost attacked my mate, If I wasn't there to stop her then..." I growled at the very thought.
"We do not acknowledge someone mentally incapable to be your mate. Just the very thought brings shame to the family name." My mother said becoming emotional. I rolled my eyes.
"Marrying Rachel would bring shame to the family!" I practically yelled at them. "Everyone she's met so far loves and cares for her! When the time comes we will have a majority vote!" I growled looking at them in the eyes.
I flipped through papers signing them as I went.
"You may leave now, I have to make alterations to the runs." I said looking down at the layout of all the runs.
"This isn't over son." My dad growled.
"As long as you have something against my mate, I am not your son." I growled deadly serious.
