Well hello, this is my first Steven Universe Character one shot I have written so if it's not up to standard then a apologies. I hope you like it.

3rd Person POV
You walked along the beach alone at night admiring he stars in the sky. You had recently moved to beach city to move away from your previous chaotic life and to meet new people. You finally sat down on the sand and looked out at the horizon whilst thinking of what tomorrow would bring. You were too zoned out to notice the someone watch watching you from the distance.

Lapis' POV
I watched the girl from a distance, unsure on what to make of her. I had never seen her before, maybe she was new. The only reason why I'm out at night is because Peridot kept complaining that I snored, which frustrates me because I obviously don't. I tried to build the confidence to approach her but I was finding it difficult. The only thing I could really see was her (h/c) hair that was lit by the moon light. She just sat their staring in to nothingness. Curiosity got the better of me and I slowly began to approach her making sure to stay as quiet as possible.

Once I was close enough to the girl I slowly reached out and touched her shoulder causing her to jump. "Oh s-sorry I didn't mean to make you jump." I apologise as she just stared at me. I could finally see her deep (e/c) eyes as it glistened. "Oh it's alright, I didn't think anyone was on the beach at this time." I loved the sound of her voice for some reason as she replied to me. I slowly sat next to her on the sand and we began to talk.

"Wait, what's that on your back?" She questioned as she leaned back to get a better look at my gem. "Oh it's just my gem." I hide my face as I felt it begin to heat up. I saw her face light up in the corner of my eye making me confused at first. "You're one of those Crystal Gem people aren't you? That's why your skin is blue right?" I look at her surprised and just gave a small nod in response. "Wow! I've heard about you guys. You're like super cool!" I felt my face begin to blush as she got closer to me. She just stared into my eyes and I didn't know what to do. "S-sorry, I just got a bit excited. I'm (y/n) by the way." I loved her name so much. "I'm Lapis Lazuli."

3rd Person POV
After a long conversation. Lapis agreed to walk you back to you're house. You had finally met a friendly face but you had deeper feelings for Lapis. The walk home was quiet but still comfortable. You felt safe with her as you stood by her. Lapis herself was also feeling emotions she had never felt before. You both finally reached to your house and you walked up to the door before turning to face Lapis who stood by. "Thanks for talking to me and walking me home Lapis. I enjoyed your company." Lazuli gently rubbed the back of her head and looked at the ground. "Maybe we can hang out again tomorrow (y/n), only if your ok with it of course." You gently smiled and blushed. "I would love to do that."

"Good night Lapis. I'll see you tomorrow." She waved back at you before she turned around and summoned her wings. You stood on awe as water appeared out of nowhere and formed her wings. All of a sudden she flew away into the night until you couldn't see her anymore. You suddenly began to squeal and ran into your house before closing the door behind you. "Oh my god I love her." You whispered to yourself before you dived under your bed sheets and tried to force yourself to sleep. All you could think about was lapis, wondering where she had flown off to. Eventually you fell asleep peacefully dreaming about lapis.

TIME SKIP

Time had past and you met with Lapis almost every day to just hang out. You began to feel more and more comfortable with her as you shared personal things with each other and went out to different places to explore. Every single day you spent together both you and Lapis' feelings deepened for each other but you both were too scared to admit it to each other. It seemed to affect Lapis as she began looking over you when you weren't together. Even Peridot had complained about Lapis talking about you in her sleep.

TO THE PRESENT!

You slowly woke up from your slumber to another day, hair messy and drool running down your chin. It was 6am and the sun had just began to rise over beach city. You decided to get up and get ready early so you had time to look your best. You got up and had a shower before picking out your outfit which was high waist jeans with a belt, a white top and an oversized thin puffy jacket, brushing your hair after picking your outfit from your wardrobe. After you were dressed you made yourself a quick breakfast and walked out the door. You walked down the street and on to the sandy beach with your hands in your pockets, looking down at your feet.

You sat in the same spot as you did every time and waited for Lapis to return to you. It didn't take long for Lapis to return. She sat next to you, closer than she did before, and stared out at the sea along side with you. "Did you sleep well (y/n)?" You looked over at her to see Lapis staring back at you. "It was alright I guess." You smiled gently before she turned away her cheeks becoming dark blue. "I couldn't stop thinking about you all last night."

Lapis' POV
Everything turned silent. I felt my chest become tight with tension as there was no going back. I decided to just tell (y/n) how I felt about her. She just sat there staring at me, waiting for me to elaborate. "I need to tell you how I feel otherwise I won't have the courage to do so." I could tell that (y/n) was speechless but I continued to stare out to sea. "To be honest, I've had strong feelings about you since the day I met you on that one night to the point I talk about you in my sleep." I notices she was still paralysis in shock. I didn't know if she was happy or upset with me.

I moved my body so that I was completely facing her, grabbing and holding her hand tightly whilst looking directly into her (e/c) eyes. "I was wondering if you felt the same way, that maybe you and I could start...dating in a way." I watched as (y/n)'s face softened as she tightened her grip around my hands. "Of course I feel the same about you." I felt as if the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders as she said those words to me. "I wish I had told you sooner Lapis, but it was so hard to tell you strait up. I didn't know how you would react if I had ever told you."

I had just noticed that (y/n) had wrapped her arms around my neck with our faces only centimetres apart. Without thinking I connected our lips together which threw her off for a bit but she soon warmed up to it. It felt like it lasted forever as everything around us stoped just for this moment. We both pulled away slowly while both keeping eye contact. I don't know why but I felt a sense of high from the kiss we both shared. I finally felt relieved.

3rd person POV
You both sat in silence, just staring at each other before lapis spoke up. "Do you want to visit the place where I stay?" You nodded and got up helping your new partner to get off the sand. Lapis spread her wings and held your hips tightly before beginning to fly away from the beach.

You felt scared but you trusted Lapis to keep you safe as you both flew through the air getting further away from the ground. You started to feel safer as you both approached a patch of farm land.

You both landed safely in front of a farm barn. "This is where me and Peridot stay. It may not seem like it but it's pretty comfortable." Lapis led you by the hand, walking you inside. "This is my hammock, I tend to sleep there when I want to. I don't need to but I like to." You smiled and saw the hammock that she was referring to. "Do you want to chill with me on the hammock." You quietly suggested to her and held your breath, waiting for Lapis to respond. "Sure, we can relax for a bit.

You took off your jacket and dropped it on the floor before climbing into the hammock with Lapis. You led your head on her shoulder as you stared at the ceiling. You suddenly felt your new girlfriend kiss you on your head making you feel warm and content.
