♦︎Garnet x Young Reader♦︎Heart Break

Top of the morning guys. Here is another one shot so enjoy my beautiful children of cheese...I'm high off of pasta. I've had 6 packets of pasta and cheese. By the way the Ex can be either boy or girl so yeah. This is going to be a short story so you can do less reading

The Crystal Gems had finished another mission and warped back home using the warp pad. Pearl and Amethyst when back into their rooms. Steven went out to go play with Connie and Garnet made her way to the kitchen area to make snacks for when you got back home from school. Garnet was like a mother to you so she did her best to look after you. You had recently been dating someone from school but you didn't really speak much of them so Garnet couldn't use her future vision well. Every time she would question you about them, you would just give vague answers which didn't help much however Garnet didn't know that you would be suffering from heart break today.

Suddenly Garnet could hear a pair of angry foot steps make their way up the stairs, outside, and the door flew open. It was you, but you weren't happy to get back. Your head hung low to hide your face. Shutting the door behind you, you made your way to the couch and collapsed head first into the cushions. Garnet knew something was wrong so she placed what she had in her hand onto the counter and made her way over to you. You didn't bother lifting your head up as you were too upset. Garnet crouched down beside you so that she was closer to you.

"Do you want to tell me what's wrong (y/n)?" Garnet asked in her concerned tone. You just shook your head with your face buried in the pillows. "Was it something at school?" She questioned. You nodded your head and waited for more questions. "Was it to do with...'them'?" You knew what she meant so you nodded your head, sobbing quietly. Garnet just sighed and stroked your (h/l) (h/c) hair. "You knew this would happen, didn't you?" You managed to mutter from the cushions, a hint of pain in your voice along with a few sniffles. "I saw many possible pathways in your relationship. It was hard to know which one was going to take place. Maybe if you sat up, I could try to make you feel better."

You slowly uncovered your face to show streams of tears flowing from you (e/c) eyes and down your cheeks. Your eyes puffy and shiny from your crying and your nose was red. Garnet sighed and wiped away your tears gently before resting her palm on her cheek. You felt Garnet's gem on your face. It was warm making you feel a bit better. "Now tell me what happened (y/n)."
"They humiliated me in front of the whole class. They said I was weird and I wasn't good enough." More tears began to form and Garnet was quick to wipe them away.

"There, there. Sometimes relationships tend not to work as well as you thought it would. Being weird isn't a negative thing you know." Garnet smiled as she lowered her glasses to reveal all three of her eyes before she continued. "They probably couldn't handle how unique you are compared to others." Her comment made you smile a bit. "What if I can't find anyone?" You asked as you rubbed your eyes. "You have so much time in the world to find the right person. It's like a Jigsaw puzzle, you might need to search for a while but you'll find the right piece in the end." You looked down, trying not to think to much into it. "You can take time off school if you want, if it makes you feel better."

Garnet placed her finger under your chin and lifted your head up to face her. You finally stopped crying. You felt much better but you still wanted to relax and forget about everything that had happened. You wrapped your arms around the fusion and closed your eyes. "Thank you." You said quietly as you rested your chin on Garnet's shoulder.

After a few minutes, Garnet pulled away from the hug and held you by your shoulders. "Promise me that you'll talk to me more." You nodded and sat back in in the couch. "Now, you must be hungry, (y/n). I'll make you a sandwich now." You watched as Garnet got up and headed toward the kitchen area to make you something to eat. "So what do you want in your sandwich?" You thought about it for a bit, thinking you might go for something weird today. "How about, cheese, chicken, tuna, salad cream AND NOODLES!" (Don't question me please, my taste buds are weird) Garnet raised an eyebrow before chuckling at your response. "Bit random today, (y/n).

TIME SKIP (brought to you by sandwiches)

Once Garnet had finished making your weird sandwich, she a walked over and handed it to you before sitting down next to you. You took a bite out of the sandwich and ate it quickly, enjoying it. "You make the best sandwiches." You jokingly mentioned as you took another bite out of the sandwich. "I know I do." Your mind was finally taken off of what had happened at school. "Is there anything else that can make you feel better?" You thought as you continued to munch on your sandwich, then it came to you. "Maybe I can come with you and the others to one of your missions." Garnet had to think for a bit. "Hmm, they are dangerous you know." You just shrugged your shoulders and smiled.

You spent the rest of the day with Garnet. Spending time inside the house and outside on the beach. Talking more about life and spending time together.
