A Cognate's Love (Sophitz)

Chapter 14 | A New Hope

Sophie and Fitz walked down the stairs of Havenfield. They could hear familiar voices from the living room and as they ran in they found Mr. Forkle and the rest of the collective standing there around two boys. She looked at them only to realize it's people she knew.

"Dex?! Keefe?!" She screamed and ran up to the two pulling them into a big hug. She hadn't noticed until now how tall they were.

"Hey ,Foster. Miss me?" Keefe smirked ,Sophie rolls dher eyes at his child like manner.

She could already tell Fitz was probably exploding ,and when she looked behind her she was right. He had an angry look on his face as if he could beat someone up.

"Just give me a second.." Sophie told the two boys and walked over to Fitz who was glaring at Keefe ,luckily Keefe didn't notice.

"Hey relax," Sophie said ,she grabbed his hand and she could see Fitz calm down.

"Are we gonna tell anyone ,about us?" Fitz asked finally looking at her.

"Yeah we will ,but right now it's not a good time ,I mean look around us ,this place is depression central." She joked.

"It's never a good time Soph," He said ,he looked so sad she just wanted to kiss him and make him feel better.

He smirked ,"Yeah me too.." he whispered in her ear.

She blushed ,and was sure she looked like a tomato.

"L-listen ,we will have time for us soon ,but for now it's about Alden and Biana," Sophie told him.

"You're right..you always are." He sighed

She rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand ,she brought him over to the group. She made sure no one noticed their hands and pulled away from Fitz before anyone noticed.

"Do they know what happened?" Sophie asked.

"Yes. And they're willing to help." Mr. Forkle stated.

"Anything," Dex said looking confident.

"Have we come up with a plan yet?" Sophie asked sitting down on the soft white couch.

"Errr ,that's what we're doing right now." Mr. Forkle said.

"I say we go in there and beat the hell out of them ,and then blow up the building." Keefe said.

Grady tolled his eyes ,"Actually I have a better idea that doesn't cause explosions ,also we don't know where they are.." Grady said looking at Keefe.

"Cool guys don't look behind them.." Keefe mumbled as he plopped down beside Sophie.

"Shoot." Keefe said gesturing to Grady.

"Well why don't we ,bring Sandor and the others to see if they can sniff out anything strange." Grady suggested.

"We already did," Mr. Forkle explained ,"They couldn't find anything ,The Neverseen aren't rookies ,they know how to kidnap people."

Sophie could see Mr. Forkle glance at her and Dex ,it put an uneasy feeling in her stomach.

"Ahem ,You did put trackers in our clothes ,right?" Fitz asked Mr. Forkle.

"Yes ,maybe Dex can track them?" Mr. Forkle asked Dex.

"I suppose ,although it might take a few days ,I'm not too sure where they are and it'll take a lot of work to put a signal out everywhere." Dex said as he went to grab some tools and gadgets.

"Alright ,that's a good start ,we'll meet back up in a couple days to see what we can find." Mr. Forkle said as he reached for his pathfinder and leaped away.

Soon everyone else followed except for Dex ,Fitz and Keefe.

"So ,What do you guys want to do?" Keefe asked as Fitz sat down on the other side of Sophie.

"You guys wanna help me with this gadget ,the more the better," Dex said as he started to adjust some wires ,the cube seemed complicated and none of them really understood what was going on.

They all gathered around him as he started mumbling in another language.

They all stayed in that living room for hours until the sun had set and they had all become tired.

"I have the ideas ,but I just don't have the energy to complete them." Dex groaned as he rubbed his eyes and layed back on the carpet.

Fitz ,Keefe and Sophie had all been laying around talking and helping. They were all sprawled across the furniture and floor. They looked like a heap of zombies.

Edaline walked in with her hands on her hips and shook her head at the sight in front of her. She walked over and threw blankets on top of all of them ,she cleaned up there empty plates and cups and walked out again shutting off the lights.

Sophie groaned and crawled to the sofa ,she crawled on to it and dug her face into the warm cushions. She could swear she heard someone breathing really close to her but she was to scared to move. She was half asleep when she felt something shift and someone's arm wrapped around her waist.

She smiled as she smelt Fitz's familiar scent. Sophie fell asleep cuddled up with her boyfriend.

Everything has been pretty crazy lately ,but some parts of it gave her a new hope that everything will be okay.

Fun story ,I dropped my phone in the toilet and had to get a new one so that's why I was gone for a couple of days.

But then I realized I had literally zero creativity and inspiration so that's why this chapter took sooooooo long. I'll try and upload more often because it seems people really like this story.
