A Cognate's Love (Sophitz)

☆ Prologue ☆

4 years later...

"Mommy? Where's daddy?" Calla asked her mother as she was tucking her in. Her mother tucked a rebellious piece of golden hair behind her ear.

"He's at work, dear." Her mother replied with a soft smile and Calla's hazel eyes mixed with Sophie's brown one's.

"Why is he never home anymore..." Calla sighed sitting up in her bed.

Her nurturing mother just smiled at her , "Daddy's been working hard since we defeated the bad guys,"

"Your father is a brave, kind, thoughtful, and-"

"Okay Mommy ,I don't need to hear you swoon over Daddy." Calla interrupted wanting to barf out her dinner.

"I'm not swooning!" Her mother scoffed while blushing a deep red.

"Sureeeeee..." Calla said teasingly.

Calla giggled as her mother tickled her, causing her to kick off the blankets and squirm around the bed.

"Hey! Are we having to much fun in here?" A voice yelled from the doorway of the earthy bedroom.

The two girls stopped to look at the man standing in the doorway.

"Daddy!" Calla yelled jumping out of Sophie's embrace to go hug her father.

"Hey kiddo!" Fitz beamed easily lifting her up, "Gosh! you are getting big!"

Calla just rolled her eyes at her father as she hugged him and he rested his head on her shoulder.

Fitz smiled at his gorgeous wife who watched the two hug. "I think it's time for bed huh?"

"No! Mommy please!" Calla begged to her Mother.

"You have your first day tomorrow! You can't be half asleep kiddo," Fitz said backing up his wife.

"Fine," Calla said crawling back in bed. Her mother and father both gave her a peck on the head and said their good nights as they shut off the lights and closed the door.

Sophie embraced Fitz as soon as the bedroom door had shut. The two had married shortly after the defeat of the Neverseen and Sophie couldn't wish for a better partner and husband.

"Anything knew at work?" She asked still holding on to him.

"Yeah they're going to let me go back to normal shifts. Today was the last day." He smiled at her tucking a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear and kissing her forehead.

"That's amazing, Calla will love that." Sophie smiled at her husband.

"And you?" Fitz asked arching a perfect brow.

"I will love you the same way I always have ,unconditionally." Sophie replied hugging him once more.

I did this little time-skip as I wanted something to write because I didn't feel like this book got the closure I was hoping I would feel but I'm hoping this changes things. Also I'd you guys have any other book suggestions you want me to write about that would be amazing.

Also I will be editing these chapters shortly I'm just too lazy rn... <3
