Chapter 4: Unforgettable Past

Sam P.O.V:

I finished classes, I went to the entrance, my brother was already there. I went with him.

Sam: Sup bro, how did it all go?

Irus: It all went great! I finally made a friend here!

Sam: Well, that's good to hear, what about you tell me everything that happened today while we go back home, ok?

Irus: Okey, but you have to tell me what happened to you too.

Sam: Ok, ok... I'll do it.

We changed our shoes and took our backpacks, and then, we both start to walk slowly to our house. The sky was already orange with just a few clouds here and there. On the road, other students were walking to their homes, but I couldn't see Yuri around... From what I heard of my bro, he was really saying the truth, his eyes were filled with that shine, the same shiny eyes when he got excited about the humans, the Royal Guard, and his cooking lessons... No matter where we are, he's still being the same... I'm so glad I ended up here with him, even if he doesn't remember our past... I take my bro from his shoulder. I smile.

He smiles back...

After a while, we finally reached our sweet home. We eat, took a bath, and changed clothes. In that, I decided to check him. He already had his pants and t-shirt on, his body had muscles but not much, and those were hidden by his clothes all this time... But when did they come?

Ah, right... After all, he happened, he trained himself...

I walked into his room, he shortly waved at me as he was looking for socks to put on...

But... The curiosity about those memories is still inside of my mind... Did that happen? So I took a deep breath and made that question...

Sam: Irus... Can you, show me those scars?

Sam: I just want to check if they're healing well.

He remains silent for a while, looking into his mind, his feelings. Then he sighed and looks at me again.

He reveals his back and puts his head down... There were big scars, some of them went from the top to the bottom... It was something really hard to see... Just like that day...

He looked at me kinda angry, but then he smiled at me a little. I think he understood what was the purpose of that joke: try to make him laugh, even a little bit. In that, I smile back.

Irus P.O.V

Even with the pleasant smile of my brother, those memories keep tormenting me every day...

When I first entered that school, I always thought I'll find friends and happiness, but then.

I meet them...

They were a group of 5 students of high classes, they liked to hunt every single student if you don't have what they want, you were sure that your existence is in big danger... At that time I was so naive and kind... I always thought that I was able to change the world, to make the people blinded by their sins and selfishness see the light and become pure.

But on that day, I learned that the world can be so cruel and dark and that I couldn't change it...

I remember that it was lunchtime, I finished my lunch and I was in the direction of the library. Then, in one of the corridors, I found them. Or, well, they found me...

Sota: Well, well, well, look what we got here... The little Virus, trying to contaminate OUR kingdom...

Ayuko: Listen here, Idiotus, you are NOTHING in this place and you know it...

Irus: G-guys, excuse me, but... I have to go...

I tried to walk between them, but Kai, the leader, took me by surprise...

I closed my eyes, I fainted at all what I felt... The horror... The despair...

It stopped.

I still could hear them...

Kai: Come on, END HIM!

Ayuko: Get OUT OF HERE!

Sota: Agh—!

Then there was just silence... With my remaining strength, I slowly opened my eyes, and then...

I saw my brother...

He was standing in front of Kai, who fell to the ground...

His face reflected the face of a warrior...

Then, he finally looks at me, as he grabbed me he talks...

Sam: Don't worry bro, everything's okay now... It's all over...
