Annie's P.O.V.

"Aww." Was all Anna said after I told her all about that happened with me and Asher.

"Yeah, I know. He just makes me so happy." I said smiling down and she nodded. "But you gotta promise me that you want tell them girls or Luke." I said looking back up at her in the eyes.

"Okay, I promise that I won't tell them." Anna said with a little smile.

"Tell who what?" Lilia asked as her and the twins sat down with us.

"Annie kissed Asher in the closet." Anna blurted out and immediately covered her mouth.

"What?!" Syd basically screamed smiling.

I looked back at Anna and she slowly took her hands off her mouth and mouthed to me, 'I'm sorry' and I just glared at her blankly.

"I need details." Lilia begged putting her hand on my arm.

"Was it a kiss or a make out?" Sydney asked smiling.

"Was their tongue?" Lilia smirked and I just rolled my eyes.

"No." I muttered and looked away from my friends.

"Did you want there to be?" Anna asked leaning closer to me.

I nodded.

They squealed.

Luke groaned.

"So tell us what happened." Sydney said.

"Okay, so it was after I left the whole email thing, I called him, we talked a little, he said he likes me, I hang up, I see him in the hall, I pull him into the janitors closet, and I kiss him. That it." I rambled out and the blondes looked at me amazed and Luke just looked pissed as hell.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my GOD!" Lilia squealed and wrapped her arms around me and just shook me. 

"Okay, ya done yet?" I asked and turned to look down at her and to see that her eyes were squeezed shut and she was smiling.

"You're so cute with him." She smiled and I rolled my eyes.

"When are you gonna tell him you're you?" Syd asked and I looked at her if she's kidding and she just stared back.

"Uh, Syd. He's the captain of the basketball team. And I'm the captain of the mathletes." I said trying to get her to understand how ridiculous it would be if I told him.

"And he told you, Miss Annie LeBlanc that he likes you." Anna said and I bit my lip and looked over at the popular table where Asher and the guys were.

Asher was smiling.

God, I absolutely love that smile.

"I can't. I like what we have now. Telling him would just make things—" I started but the girls answer for me.

"Perfect?" Lilia said.

"Magical?" Anna thought.

"Hot?" Sydney said and I just started at her blankly.

"Complicated." I said and got up walking out of the cafeteria.

"Hey, Anns." Luke said jogging behind me and we walked down that hall side by side. "I'm totally with you. Not telling him and all. It'll just get messy." He said shaking his head.

"Luke, why don't you like Asher?" I asked because I don't think I've ever gotten a straight answer from him about it.

"I just don't want him to hurt you." He said sincerely and I frowned my eyebrows a little.

"I can take care of myself." I said looking up at him.

"No, yeah I know that, it's just that I need to protect you." He said staring right into my eyes.

"Why, you do you need to?" I wondered and he just stopped walking in the middle of the hall and I stopped too.

We went over to the wall and sat down leaning on it and looked at me and I know it was gonna be serious.

Luke took a deep breath and began, "You remember that summer of 2015, Ocean City before, you know?" He asked and I nodded. "Our last night there, you, Sydney, Hayley, and our parents went out to that dance thing at the hotel and me and Caleb stayed back in the room playing video games. After a game he stopped and started talking. Like one of those deep conversations he has like at least once a month." He said and I laughed remembering the ones we had.

"Well, he went on about how some guy was apparently 'checking you out' at the beach and Caleb told me that he ended up punching that kid to teach him a lesson. But he said that if I ever saw someone trying to get with his little sister and I wasn't 100% sure that they were good enough for her then I had to do whatever I could to stop it. He made me promise him." Luke said and I watched him as he wiped tears out of his eyes.

"And I guess that's what I'm trying with you and him." He said clearing his throat.

"And you're not 100% on Asher?" I asked and he shook his head looked down.

"No." He said with his head down and shaking it. "I'm sorry Annie, I am trying to see it from your perspective. But I just can't." He said and sniffles a little. "And I can't let Caleb down."

And that was when I realized that I was crying too. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and laid my head on his shoulder.

"Luke, I love, respect, and trust you more then you could ever know. But you need to put a little trust in me. And have a little faith in me." I said and I felt him nodding.

"I'm trying. But this is all new for me." He said and I let out a small laugh.

"Me too, but we'll get through it together. Like we always do." I said and he smiled.

Fuck, that made me cry a little.

Sorry I haven't been updating that much but I'm starting to lose interest in this book. But you guys aren't so I'll bite my tongue, and write for the next like 13 hours.
