Uraraka fell flat on her back with a hard and painful thud when she reached the bottom, as someone had thrown a snowball hard and fast at her face.
She'd ducked just in time to dodge it, but ended up on her ass for it. Bakugou skid to a stop beside her and looked down with heavy breathing.
"You okay?"
She groaned and got up, cracking her back as she did.
"Who threw that?"
She asked, looking around. Her eyes settled on a group of kids, no older than fourteen, the colour draining from their faces.
So it was you lot,
She thought, and bent down to undo the buckles on her board. Bakugou rolled his shoulders next to her.
"I don't know, but when I find out I'm gonna-"
"Katsuki, it's fine. It was an accident"
He looked at her incredulously. She laid a hand on his chest and smiled sweetly.
"Come on, lets go inside and get something warm to drink. I'll verse you again next round, not that you'll beat me..."
After a moment his famous grin spread across his face.
"You're on,"
He said, and they headed inside. They walked to the nearest café and found a few of the others inside.Mr. Aizawa was huddled in one corner, zipped up in his sleeping bag. Shoto and Momo were sitting together, and she clung to his left side for dear life. Uraraka skipped over to the table where Kirishima and Denki were seated. They had warm soups in front of them.
When she sat down across from them they smiled, and began conversation as Bakugou sat as well.
"Crazy cold, am I right?"
Denki began, rubbing his gloved hands together. She nodded eagerly.
"I know, right? If I'd known it was going to be so cold I would've borrowed some of my parents warm clothes!"
Denki tilted his head.
"There's a clothes store not far from here, didn't you see it? A few of us got some jackets and pants from there before we came here"
She flushed.
"Oh, I know, I saw it I just...I couldn't bring any money with me so-"
"But-"
"Drop it, dunce face"
Bakugou said, bumping into the conversation. She sighed inwardly and brushed her hand against his under the table as a thanks. He nudged his knee against hers lightly in response. Kirishima clapped his hands to break the silence.
"So, where to next after this? I think I saw a great convenience store a few buildings down the road?"
Uraraka sat up straight.
"Oh, that sounds fun! Stores like that in places like this always have the coolest things!"
Bakugou nudged her again, and she looked over at him.He wouldn't say it, but she could read it on his face.
But you don't have any money?
She shrugged lightly.
"It's always fun to look around, isn't it? We could just pass the time,"
He sighed and picked up a menu, sticking his nose into it. She knew that he hated watching her look at things in stores that she wanted, but couldn't pay for. He'd offered to take her shopping a few times, but she'd refused each time. She would not waste other people's money on herself.
Bakugou ordered something she didn't pay attention to, and Kirishima looked at her worriedly.
"Aren't you going to eat? It's super cold, and you look almost blue"
She squared her shoulders.
"No, I'm okay, really! I ate before-"
"And then threw it all down the pipes"
Bakugou said, and she grimaced. She'd forgotten about that...
"You threw up? Are you okay?"
Denki said, and she nodded her head assuringly.
"Yes, I just can't handle my drinks as well as I thought I could..."She smiled sheepishly, and they seemed to relax. Bakugou's group had basically adopted her since she and him had first started dating the year before, and they still treated her like one of their own.
Speaking of, Mina had just breezed through the door and had latched herself onto Uraraka's back.
"Oh, my god! It's freezing! But the cold air is such a rush!"
She sat herself down next to Kirishima and shook her hands in front of her.
"I can't feel my fingers!"
Uraraka smiled as she noticed Kirishima suddenly change. His eyes lowered and a small smiled spread on his lips, and he watched Mina as if she were the centre of the universe.
Uraraka pinched Bakugou's leg and gestured with a sidewards nod to the couple across from them. He looked between his friend and her with an oblivious look painted on his face. She sighed and rested her chin in her hands.
Boys, they never catch on...
She thought, and did her best to ignore the tight ball in her stomach.
I'll eat when I get back to the hotel, it's free there.
She decided, and mentally told her stomach to keep quiet. If anyone at this table heard her stomach growl they'd be holding her down and force feeding her. She shuddered at the thought. After about an hour later all but Denki had left together, he said he wanted to wait for the others first. Bakugou had almost cracked his temper when Uraraka refused to eat some of the food he'd ordered. Kirishima and Mina had had to do damage control for the next ten minutes.
The store that Kirishima suggested wasn't big, but it was nice. Comforting and welcoming. All the shelves were decorated and the walls were lined with wood. Kirishima and Mina immediately shot down an aisle to a small section of party masks that they spotted.
Uraraka skipped over to a family game section, and after a moment Bakugou followed her. After a unbelievable fight between Kirishima and Bakugou over a shirt bedazzled in red rhinestones, they finally headed back outside. Kirishima had a hold of one end, while Bakugou had the other, they'd tugged it back and forward like children.
"I'm buying it!"
Kirishima had said.
"No, you're not! It's a waste of money, and ugliest damn thing I've ever seen!"
Bakugou had shot back.
"It doesn't matter what you think anyway! It's mine!"The only reason they'd stopped fighting was because Uraraka and Mina had walked out without them. Mina had bought a game of Monopoly, and Uraraka could already see the horror that game would cause among the class. She could already see Bakugou flipping the board over and storming away saying the game was rigged. She sighed inwardly and walked huddled close to Mina as they made their way back to the hotel.
