Ochako raced outside, weaving between running patients and nurses and doctors. All of them sprinting for the safety of the building.

The girl was screeching, crying and wailing and using her quirk until almost everything around her was broken. The ground beneath her feet was shattered and cracked.
"Miss?"
Ochako called, not daring to flinch or back away when the girl whirled on her. She was young, and plain. Unremarkable. Her hands were shaking, her veins a pungent blue against her pale skin. Her eyes were red and tired.
"Stay away!"
She screamed, and threw her hand out. A blast of sharp air whirled toward Ochako, so fast it seemed mad. She ducked just in time to dodge it. Ochako dodged and twirled through the air, thanking god that the girl was untrained and stumbled with her quirk.

It was dangerous. The ability to hone and sharpen air to her liking, then direct it at anything she pleased. She had to hurry. She had to.
Ochako got close enough to knock the girls feet from under her, and pin her down. She was screaming and fighting Ochako with everything she had, but the hero was stronger than her. Better.
"Calm down! I can't help you until you calm down!"
"Get off of me! Get off!"
A shield of air riled back and struck like a wave against Ochako's back, but she held firm. Shaking with the effort of keeping her down.
"I won't go back! I can't!"
"Where? Go back where?"
She began shivering as she cried, her tears streaming down her face. She was weakening. Her quirk was becoming more and more thin.
She was silent for a while, slowly submitting underneath Ochako.
"I was supposed to be normal...I didn't want this. They took me, cut me open, and they changed something!"
She thrashed again, her quirk working wildly to free her. Ochako fought against the slashed that appeared in her skin, the pull of it as it tried to break her.
"What happened to you? Why are you doing this?"
She asked the girl, but she only got another scream in return.
"I won't go back! You cant make me! Let me go, please! They're here! I swear. I swear they're here for me, let me go I have to run!"
"Tell me who did this to you and I can help! I promise you, that's why heroes are here-"
"Oh yeah? Then where were you? Where were you when I was taken?! When my brother was sliced open and bled to death because they couldn't put a quirk inside of him!"

Police began running onto the scene, aiming guns and shouting.
"Uravity! Let the girl go, we will open fire!"
"No! There's something wrong here, she says she was normal before all of this. We need to-"
"We have been authorised to use deadly force. Move away from the girl now!"
One of them shot, and a bullet buried itself into the girls leg. She screamed, throwing her head back. Ochako jumped up and held up her hands.
"No, wait-"
A hand grabbed her leg, and she turned. The girl locked eyes with her for a split second, something like sorrow and pity in them. I'm sorry, she seemed to say, before another bullet found its way into her collar and she froze. A blast of air so strong it flattened the soldiers raged out of her.
It slammed into Ochako and sent her flying, she only stopped when her body crashed into the side of a car, a sickening crack sounding in her ears. She hit the ground with a thud and blacked out.

She shot up in bed, breathing hard. A nurse was beside her bed, and she calmed her down.
"Mrs. Bakugou, please calm down. You're in the hospital. An accident occurred whilst you were trying to save that young woman"
"Young woman- the girl! The girl, what happened to her? Is she okay?"

The nurse sighed.
"No, I'm afraid not. She died last night from a bullet wound to her chest"
The world came crashing down around her, and she held her head in her hands.
"I'm afraid there is more bad news, Mrs. Bakugou,"
She lifted her head again, meeting the nurses eyes.
"What? What's happened?"
The nurse looked down once, guilt flashing across her face.
"The doctor and I have agreed to withhold the information from you husband until your say so, but I'm afraid you lost your baby."
Her lungs stopped working. Everything just- stopped.
"W-What?"
"A very strong blast of air hit you, it's first impact was to your stomach. Even if that hadn't caused your miscarriage, your entire body hit a car. You have terrible bruising along your back and torso-"

She stopped hearing the nurse. Stopped being able to process anything. Seconds ticked by, minutes, she didn't know. All she knew was that her baby was gone, everything- ruined. Absolutely everything.
"Mrs. Bakugou."
She snapped up, realising the nurse had asked her something.
"Yes?"
"Your husband is awake, and he's been asking for you. I thought you would want to tell him yourself-"
"No. No, I can't. Not yet, at least"
The nurse frowned.
"He's been asking for you for hours. I'm afraid we can't keep telling him no"
She sighed.
"Okay- okay, fine. I will tell him. But, I have to get myself together first. Clear my head"
The nurse nodded and walked away, leaving Ochako to try and stop herself from falling apart.
