Bam! A five pound suitcase fell to the empty floor.
" Sweetie! You almost done? I've been waiting for a thousand hours!" Yelled my dad.
" Coming! Just need to grab my posters then I'm out!" I replied.
"Okay sweetie!"
" Oh and dad? One more thing... don't call me sweetie! Please?" I reminded him. Dad didn't say another word. Until then," Sweetie the pick up truck is here so hurry up!"
"Ugh!"

We drove through California across the desert, and pulled up into a gravel yard. Before us was looming a 100 foot tall ginger brown mansion with a black roof- not too shabby. I hopped out the truck with a troubled look on my face," This is gonna be a long forever.."

When i step onto the creaky wooden steps of the porch and into the house, a spider web fell onto my face.
" Ew! What kind of home is this?" I spat, swatting the spider web off my face.
" We'll have to clean it up tomorrow morning," my dad replied, examining the place. I asked," By "we" you mean you right?" Dad gave me a stern look.
"Yea- no it's a "we" not a "me"," he answered. I sigh and went to find a room that I would call mine. What time Is it anyway? It is pretty dark out. I take my phone out from my back pocket.
Nine thirty eight.
I huff and put it back in my pocket and find a suitable room. I slowly unpack everything and when I had settled in I went to bed.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of birds chirping, but not that delightful chirp in the Disney movies, a chirp that was kinda like " Wake up! You don't have a choice! Your dad's going to come in anyway any minute now!" that kind of chirp.

I stand up and change into a blue t-shirt and a darker shade of blue-like jeans. Oh great! The hard part. I go into the bathroom right outside my bedroom and struggle to keep the tangles in my hair tamed.

After that I had a good breakfast- eggs and bacon. I help my dad a lot around the house for about an hour then he decided we should take a break, so I announce that i would like to go give myself a tour of the place. He approves, and so I change into something suitable for the chilly autumn we're having.

On the way I see a clock tower that looked like a hundred years old. After that it was kind of a blur. Just a bunch of old and rugged houses and other stuff that I didn't pay much attention to.

After a couple minutes I spotted a school, I swept a strand of hair from my emerald green eyes and stopped in front of it, immediately regretting it. I saw people having fun with their friends, making me miss Cassie and Rachelle more than ever. I stared back at the school with sadness, longing to run back to California.

I shake the memory away and walked on, looking down at my feet, not wanting to continue in giving myself the tour. My thoughts began to wander to a different land when I felt myself bumping into what I thought was a human. I fall into the hard cement, I moan as I felt pain spreading through my head. I turn wanting to see who was the idiot who bumped into me. My vision's really blurry so all that i could make out of the person was that it was a girl with black hair with white highlights, what did she want to do? Make herself look like a grandma? I look into what I think is hazel eyes, I look at them for a moment. But then I realized this was a random stranger who I didn't even know the name of. I do the only thing that's smart- I run.

I open the old door and slam it behind my back. Dad had pretty much cleaned the whole place up, it was looking much better. He had been cutting up lettuce, probably something for lunch, and when i come in he looked up, catching himself before he cut a finger off. I pull out a wooden stool that had been pushed against the island where dad had been cutting the lettuce, and drop myself on it, grumbling. Dad just stared at me with his emerald eyes- just like mine. Then he cleared his throat,"Hey, uh, sweetie?"
"Hmmm?"
" I've got something to tell you," dad revealed. I look up to meet with his eyes, emerald to emerald.
" What is it dad?" I ask.
"I've enrolled you into a school," he announced.
What?
" What do you mean?" I asked suddenly, hating this move more than ever.
" I mean you'll be starting Silver Steam High School this Monday," he repeated," You can make some new friends, and, start a new life!"
" I don't want to start a new life! I want my old life back!" I cried. I stood up and stomped up the stairs. I hadn't stayed long enough to see tears well up in my dads eyes.

I slip on my newly bought black rhinestone backpack. I didn't want to go to school, but dad made me.
" Have fun on your first day of school,ok?" Dad whispered.
" I'll be fine! I'm not four anymore!" I shot back.

I entered the two grey doors leading into what I called hell. 'Cause as soon as I went in there I wanted to run out. I dozed off for a moment, and by that I mean my vision got blurry all I could hear was the sound of ringing banging on the inside of my head.
" Hello? Hello? Hello?!"
The ringing subsided and my vision came back piece by piece, and when that happened I saw a middle-aged woman with brown hair and eyes with high cheekbones.
" You must be Natalie Silver! Pleasure to meet you! I'm Principal Anderson!" Miss Anderson and I shook hands, her hands were warm and soft, spreading warmth through me.
" Let me show you to your locker so you can unpack and then I will lead you to your first class and for the fifteen minute break I will have Abby McDonald"- I almost laughed at the name!-" Give you a tour of the school. Oh! And we have a field trip to the Crystal Caves tomorrow! You came just in time!"
" Yay.. field trip," I replied sourly. Just standing in this school makes me sick.
