Sarge stayed until the evening. Radley was reluctant to let him leave, offering to let him stay for dinner or even the night. Something told Radlynn he would've said yes if she weren't there. Still, Radley seemed in a good mood, if the smile stuck on his face and persistent humming he was doing before he left to go shower was anything to go by.

It was nice, seeing Radley so happy. He'd smiled a few times in the time she'd been there, but nothing like when he talked to Sarge. The onion man brought out the best in Radley, she felt. I mean- they were best friends after all.

It made her think of her own friends back at home, and her family. She sighed to herself. Munchmore didn't have cell service, she'd tried, so contacting people was impossible. Her phone had just been sitting in her skirt pocket these past few days.

Speaking of her phone, where even was it? She sat up and looked around. Maybe Radley had left it in his room or accidentally thrown it in the washing ma- oh no it's on the coffee table. She grabbed it, feeling the cold glass of the screen.

Radlynn turned on the phone, smiling a little at her lock screen. It was a photo of her and some friends, squished up on a park bench. She was in the centre, wearing her skirt, hat and a red tank top. It was taken in the summer, July if she remembered right. There was a boy on either side of her. One was wearing a helmet and a purple jacket with a black shirt. Sarge Fan, the craziest person she knew (though most people called him Faniel for short. Radlynn had coined the nickname herself), and on the other side was a boy in a red and white striped shirt wearing a baseball cap. Greg, probably the smartest person she knew. Radlynn smiled softly at the photo for a few moments.

They were probably really, really worried about her, huh? She unlocked her phone and tapped into her photo gallery, swiping through various pictures. Pictures of herself goofing off, or photos of friends she'd taken while they weren't looking, or places and things she'd seen. She swiped through a collection of photos she'd taken at a concert, wincing at selfies she'd taken with her former boyfriend. Radlynn kept swiping, going past photos from a day trip to the Onion Jenny statue she'd taken with some friends. She wondered if everyone back home was doing okay.

The bathroom door opened and closed, making Radlynn look up. Radley smiled at her. "Hungry?" He asked, his good mood still apparent.

"Sure," she murmured back, looking back at her phone. "I'll eat."

Radley tilted his head. "...are you alright?" He asked slowly. Her tone sounded strange, forced even. Radlynn looked at him, then back at her phone.

"Of course I am," she replied. "Don't worry."

Radley was going to worry, regardless of what she said. It wasn't like Radlynn to be upset easily, or at least he thought so. He wasn't great at recognising traits. He stepped a little closer, fiddling with his hands absently. "Is something bothering you?" He asked. Radlynn glanced over at him and sighed.

"I'm just a little homesick," She murmured. "That's all."

Radley frowned sadly. "Oh." He hesitated before asking another question. "What are you looking at?"

"Pictures from back home," she replied, then smiled a little. "Some of these are really stupid, I can't believe I kept them." She murmured, more to herself than Radley.

"Could I look?" He asked. She looked over at him. "It's just I haven't seen much of the human world." He added quickly. That was only partially a lie.

"Sure," Radley was surprised by her lack of hesitation. "I don't see why not."

Radley smiled and padded over to the couch then knelt down beside her. Radlynn pulled up a photo of herself sitting at a table in a restaurant with Sarge Fan and Greg.

"This was for my birthday," she explained. She zoomed in on Sarge Fan. "That's Faniel. He's a bit of an ass but he's fun to be around. A little crazy though."

"Oh, I know him!" Radlynn looked at Radley. "Sarge told me all about him. A nice kid."

"Oh yeah, you held him in fort onion right? He still talks about that," she chuckled lightly. "Best day of his entire life."

"Really?" Radley smiled a bit. "Well then I'm glad I made him happy." She smiled and zoomed out, only to immediately zoom in again on Greg.

"You might know Greg too, he got kidnapped twice actually."

"Twice?" Radley asked in surprise. Radlynn nodded.

"Yeah, the first time was the pizza thing with Sarge, and then he was taken during the burgerzilla stuff too."

Radley shrugged at her. "The pizza thing was mostly Sarge. He went with the plan too early so I didn't really get involved."

"He did?"

"Yeah... Shida is great, but planning isn't his strong suit." Radley chuckled lightly. "it's a wonder he didn't get himself killed."

She laughed and swiped through more photos, telling him about the people and the places, the stories behind ever single one. Radley listened intently, a small smile on his face the whole time. He wasn't smiling because of the photos however, he was just happy to see Radlynn was cheering up.

"Who's that?" He asked suddenly.

"Huh?" Radlynn swiped back a couple photos. "Him?" The photo was of a man with long blue and brown hair that covered one of his eyes. He wore a red sleeveless jacket, a black and red striped shirt and a lot of eyeshadow. Radley frowned.

"Yes, is he another of your exes or...?" Radlynn had told him about her past partners, and from what he'd seen most of them were the rocker type.

"WH-" Radlynn burst into laughter. "Oh my god, Radley!" He stared at her in surprise.

"What?" He asked defensively. Radlynn wheezed and sat up.

"That's my dad!" Radley stared at her in shock. Radlynn chuckled.

"It's just he looks so young." He murmured back weakly. Radlynn smiled at him.

"Yeah, I know," she looked back at the photo. "He was only eighteen when I was born." Radley's mouth formed into an 'O' shape as she spoke. "My dad's great though, he's been amazing at looking after me honestly..." She smiled sadly at the photo. "He's probably worried sick about me."

Radley frowned. "...you really miss everyone, huh?" She nodded and sighed, turning off the phone. She reached under her bangs and wiped at her eyes.

"Yeah." She sniffed.

Radley hesitated, then took her hand, squeezing it reassuringly. "I'll get you home." He smiled. "I promise."
