Why are you here?

A Tad Disappointing

"Here you are." Radley said as he slid the mug of tea over to her. "Sorry I don't have coffee, I don't drink it that much." Radlynn shrugged and took the mug, just happy to have something warm. She watched him from where she sat at the dining table, listening to the crackling noises that came from the eggs and bacon he was frying up.

"You said you stayed here to meet me, right?" Radley's voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Mhm." He glanced over at her.

"Why?"

Radlynn looked at him in surprise. "Because you're my idol, obviously."

"...why?" She shifted in her seat.

"Well uh- you're cool, I guess." She could feel his eyes on her. "I mean- you make your own creatures, you build these big machines, you almost took over the world twice-"

"So you like the villain part of me." She watched him place the food on plates. "I'm afraid I might be a little disappointing." He pushed the food in front of her and sat down.

"...it's not that, it's just....something has always told me you're a good person." He looked up at her. "that maybe you're actually nice and maybe we could-" she paused. "That I could be your friend, or something."

"Radlynn," Radley placed down the knife and fork he was using. "I don't know who you expected or wanted to meet, but it probably isn't me." 

"...you are Radley Madish, aren't you?" He nodded. "Then you're the person I wanted to meet." He watched her for a few seconds, then sighed softly.

"Alright then."

Silence fell between them as they ate. Radley could feel her watching him curiously.

"...I don't remember telling you my name." Radlynn's voice broke the silence. He looked at her.

"Hm?"

"You called me Radlynn earlier." She tilted her head. "I didn't tell you my name, but you knew it." He froze. Surprisingly enough, she saw his cheeks flush a light pink. Like he was embarrassed about something.

"Uh-" he avoided her gaze. "I take the names of everybody I kidnap." She nodded slowly.

"Uh-huh."
