I'll be honest, if you told me at the beginning of the day that I would make Cyrus upset, I would've denied it. I replayed the look on his face in my head repeatedly, and I couldn't stop thinking about him.

He was the one I always confided in, but this was the one thing I couldn't talk to him directly about. The only reason I told the girls was to get their reactions. I should've trusted Cyrus more, and I felt terrible.

I tried to catch up to him, but he was surprisingly nimble. His pace nearly made me give up, but I was not going to let him get away.

"Cyrus, please!" I screeched "Let me explain!"

To my surprise, Cyrus turned around and I could feel my pulse racing. His tear stained face near enough broke my heart.

"What?" he boomed "Am I so repulsive that you won't just talk to me about feelings?"

"N-no" I stuttered "I wasn't ready"

"I find it difficult to be your friend at times" he blubbered "You seem to have everything that I could want"

This was the most uncomfortable I'd ever felt. His voice sounded powerful, yet vulnerable. I wanted to get everything out as soon as possible.

"Cyrus, I'm sorry" I interjected "I should've told you the truth, but it was difficult"

"Jonah, you are so oblivious" he spluttered "How on earth can you not see what's right in front of you?"

"You've lost me" I replied "What are you talking about here?"

"You say that you have a crush on me, right?" he began.

"That's correct" I confirmed.

"Have you ever wondered why I was so keen to be your friend?" he posed "Why, despite my better judgement, I've taken every opportunity to hang out with you whenever, and wherever, I am able to?"

As I let his words sink in, I began to think it all through. His actions were certainly out of character, and I was concerned.

"Cyrus, you should calm down" I instructed "What are you trying to get at here?"

"Jonah, isn't it obvious?" he retorted.

In reality, it was becoming blatantly obvious what he was trying to say, but I refused to believe it as I felt like it was too good to be true.

"I think I'm getting the wrong impression" I stated.

"Ugh... I'll say it then" he sighed "I have a crush on you too!"

Internally, I was freaking out, and my heart felt like it was going to stop. He had told me something that I had always wanted to hear, but surely it wouldn't be that simple, would it?
