Just A Crush - A Jyrus Story (COMPLETED)

Chapter 6 - Listen

I walked back to the spoon in the hope of finding Cyrus on the way. The awkwardness had gone on long enough and it had to stop.

To my disappointment, Cyrus was nowhere to be seen, but when I got to the spoon, I saw him talking to Andi and Buffy.

I'm not usually one to be nosy, but I felt obliged to listen into their conversation. Hopefully it would give me some insight.

"I screwed everything up!" Cyrus opened, his voice shaky "I finally had a chance to go out with him, and all I did was make things worse!"

"I don't think that's true" Andi assured "If I know Jonah, he's trying to work out how to deal with this the right way"

"I admit that he is oblivious, but he genuinely cares" Buffy interjected "When he was talking to us about you, I could see the love in his eyes"

"But what if I've scared him off?" Cyrus muttered "He's the most amazing person and I can't believe I was the one who reacted badly"

"Why don't you give it some time to settle?" Andi suggested.

"I don't think that's a good idea" Buffy countered "You shouldn't wait to try and get the one person who truly makes you happy"

I was feeling a smile creep on my face, I had never known just how he felt about me. And, the girls were really fighting my case, even though I didn't think I deserved to have their support. I walked closer, wanting to be as near to my crush as possible.

"You know something?" Cyrus rejoined "You're right. I hope he'll forgive me for being so stubborn"

"I don't think he'll have a problem doing that" Buffy explained "At the end of the day, given the chance, he'd probably do anything to go out with you"

"When I dated him, I always felt that something was missing" Andi revealed "When he's with you, it's like he's a different person"

"In what way different?" Cyrus asked.

"He only pays attention to you" Andi answered "He lets you tag along, wherever he goes. His face always lightens up when you enter the room"

I was now desperate to tell him how I felt, knowing that the girls wanted me to ask him out. I wanted to ensure that by the end of the day, Cyrus would be holding my hand.

"I've seen that too" Buffy agreed "I can tell that so often when you hug him, he wants to stay in that position forever"

"I bet he doesn't really feel like that" Cyrus sighed.

"Well, you're wrong!" I interjected.

"J-Jonah?" He stuttered.
