It was late afternoon and Remus was getting hungry. He decided to raid the kitchen cupboards for a snack, eventually deciding on Crofter's on toast. As he was getting out the bread, Remus knocked over the jam with his elbow and cursed under his breath. "Logan's gonna kill me..." Remus muttered, before deciding he wouldn't mind dying an untimely death by Logan. He wondered how it would go. Maybe electrocution?! Ooh, that was a new thought. Before he could deal with the spillage on the table, however, Deceit crept into the kitchen, taking Remus by surprise. The snake - like side surveyed the scene, letting out a low chuckle. "It almost looks like a crime scene took place here. How did you manage this?" Amused, Dee gestured to the now filthy table. Remus shrugged as he tried to wipe it down hastily. "It was actually a massacre. I murdered Roman, and this is all his blood."
Dee blinked slowly, not saying anything. Remus waited for him to laugh.
The silence that followed was unbearable.
Was it getting hot in the room?
Definitely wasn't awkward. Nope. Dee was just -- relishing the joke! Remus settled on that.
"Dee? You do know I'm kidding, don't you?" Deceit groaned and smacked a hand to his forehead. "I thought you were being sssserious for a minute there. It'sss too early for this."
"It's three pm?" Remus giggled to himself.
Deceit smirked and waved his hand, making all the jam disappear and the jam pot stand upright once more. "I'm jussst going to pretend this never happened." He turned to leave.
"Oi! Snakey! You can't get away that easy!" Remus called after Dee, beaming. Deceit spun on his heels and raised an eyebrow. "Our movie date this evening. Don't forget it!" Deceit flushed. "I certainly won't." He threw a wink behind him and departed from the kitchen, leaving behind a very flustered Remus.
