Deceit and Remus had been together for a while now, around two years or so, and their anniversary was approaching fast. Remus knew what to get for Dee - he always got him a different bouquet of flowers, so intricately decorated, each with unique meanings.

However, Deceit was feeling the exact opposite. He was just completely stuck on what to get his chaotic boyfriend. Deceit idly browsed ideas on the internet, yet he could find nothing that screamed "Remus." Dee sighed as he closed his laptop and checked his watch - it was time for filming.

Dee flirted with Remus throughout the video, enjoying Remus' new presence in the videos. When they took a break, Dee snapped his fingers to appear in Remus' spot, pulling him close, pressing a kiss to his dark crown of hair. Remus happily snuggled into him hard. "What's all this for?" Remus questioned suspiciously. Deceit smiled and cupped Remus' face, bringing him in for a gentle kiss. "I've missed you." Remus giggled. "It's been ten minutes. And we're in the same room!" Deceit smirked and ran his hand through Remus' hair affectionately. "Exactly, my dear."

As they were finishing up the last parts of the video, Deceit became startled by Patton's ever so cheerful cry. "Dogs!" An idea struck him. Dogs... dogs! He and Remus could adopt a dog! Remus would love a chaotic little fluffball, and it would keep him entertained. Deceit knew it was a big step - a dog would be a big responsibility. But somehow, Deceit trusted Remus with this. He smiled as he sunk into his room.

It turns out, finding a dog isn't as easy as it seems. Deceit decided he would need to go to the local shelter, but he needed an excuse, and what better to do than take Patton?

He flicked his fingers idly and Patton appeared in a cloud of yellow smoke. Patton jumped, startled, but played it off with a lopsided grin, sticking a hand on his hips. "What's up, kiddo?"
"Oh, Patton." Deceit dragged out his words as he played with his pencil.
"I was wondering if you'd care to join me on, say... an outing?" He raised his eyebrow hopefully. Patton laughed nervously. "Well, it depends where." Deceit stood and leaned in close. "Nowhere special. Just the shelter. To look at the dogs - Oh, Morality." He clutched at his chest dramatically. "All those poor, lonely dogs."
Patton's eyes lit up in excitement. "You had me at shelter!!!" He squealed, babbling. Deceit stood up and smiled, content. "One rule. Don't tell Remus." Patton tilted his head. "Oh. Wh-"
"Make that two rulessss, darling. No questions." And with that, he set off. "What, aren't you coming?" He glanced behind him as Patton scrambled to join him.

"What, aren't you coming?" He glanced behind him as Patton scrambled to join him

Remus sighed and rolled over, switching off his phone and waiting for Dee.

Deceit wasn't one to let things get to him. But he couldn't help but be amused at the small creatures yapping at his feet. As he observed, one particular dog caught his eye.

He kneeled down and looked it in the eyes, gently ruffling her ears

He kneeled down and looked it in the eyes, gently ruffling her ears. "Hey, buddy." The puppy reached her head out and sniffed at Dee's glove curiously and the corners of his mouth twitched upwards. Deceit stood up and cleared his throat. "We'll take this one."

When it was all sorted, Deceit beckoned Patton over. Patton was sat cross-legged on the floor like a child. He looked up and pouted. Dee rolled his eyes. "Fine. Five more minutes with the dogs."

Dee soon got back, having given the dog to Roman to look after until the day of the anniversary. Allowing himself a small smile at a job well done, Dee pushed open his and Remus' door gently, and was greeted by Remus pouncing on him, excitedly pressing kisses down his neck. Dee grinned. "Someone's excited to see me."

"I haven't seen you all day! I was going insane!" Remus pouted. Deceit raised an eyebrow. "More insane than you already were? My, my."
Remus just grinned and pulled Dee onto the bed with him. ;)

Timeskip to the anniversary

Deceit's eyes flickered open slowly and he wriggled in Remus' grip - Remus' arm was wrapped tightly around Dee. Deceit shook his arm gently. "Re, wake up, Sweetie." Remus groaned as his eyes flickered open. "Happy anniversary, darling." Dee pressed soft kisses to Remus' neck and jawline. Remus giggled. "It's too early for this, Dee Dee." Deceit smirked. "Fine. I guess you'll just have to wait for the surprise I have so intricately prepared for you." Upon hearing this, Remus scrambled out of bed. "No way!! You got me a surprise?"

Deceit smiled slowly. "Mayhaps. I guess you'll just have you find out."
Remus giggled excitedly and began hastily getting dressed. Deceit lay back and enjoyed the view.

Soon, the pair were dressed and ready to open each other's gifts. Remus handed Deceit a bouquet of yellow roses with red tips. "They mean falling in love," Remus explained shyly. Deceit inhaled the scent and beamed. "They're lovely. I'll put them right on the shelf next to--," he tried not to grimace. "The dragon witches' heart." Remus grinned and Deceit pulled him in for a slow kiss.

As they pulled away, Remus smiled. "Give me my surprise, Dee!! I've waited all morning!"
"You certainly have, Remus. You're so very patient." Deceit kissed Remus' forehead gently. "You stay there, Remus. I mean it." He warned as he walked out. Remus waited quietly for Dee to come back, and that he did, a large brown box in his arms. Remus cocked his head. "I'm not going to lie, I thought the surprise was going to be you, all dressed up and-" Deceit blushed and slapped a hand over Remus' mouth. "Maybe later. But go on. It's all yours to open." He slid the box towards Remus who undid a tasteful green ribbon before removing the lid. Curled up in the middle, was a little, fluffy... puppy! Remus squealed as he pulled it out, handling it gently. The dog barked and licked his cheek. "Awww!!" What shall we call her, Dee?" Deceit felt his heart melt at the sparkle in Remus' eyes, lighting up his features. "I don't mind. How about Bella?" Remus thought for a minute and then nodded. "It's perfect, Dee Dee!!"

Deceit watched fondly as Remus played with the dog, giving her belly rubs and throwing toys for her. It was an adorable sight. He couldn't help but snapping some photos.

Timeskip :)

When Bella was all tired out, Remus bounded over to Dee and grabbed his face, pressing kisses all over his scales. "What are you doing, 'Mussy?" Deceit chuckled, stopping when he saw the tears in Remus' eyes, squeezing his hand. "Hey... 'Mus?"
"Thank you." Remus said it quietly. Deceit cocked his head. Remus' voice cracked as he talked. "I didn't think you'd think me responsible enough for a dog... nobody would. Thank you for believing in me." Deceit nodded and pulled him closer fiercely, wrapping his arms around him tight.

And so the evening ended with the two lovers cuddling on the couch, Bella fast asleep by their feet.
