I sneak into her room.
She isn’t asleep this time.
She’s awake.
Wide awake.
Her eyes are open.
They’re looking at me.
I look at her.
I didn’t ask if I could lie with her.
I just did.
She moved over.
She held my hand.
She whispers.
She says we’re still not friends.
I say okay.
I smile.
I don’t no why.
