(Y/N) POV.
Sanctuary use to be home, though I couldn't get those darn rose bushes to grow and the neighbors weren't exactly pleasant, but it was home. I don't usually come by here with all the bad memories that come with it, but today I just had to. Sanctuary's far different now, from when I saved Preston and his folks guess I thought I might actually find my little boy Shaun, but here i am almost 3 years later. My head was a world wind of thoughts and emotions.
As I walked across the rickety wooden bridge that marked the edge of the town, I felt someone grab my shoulder."General?"
'Speak of the devil' I turned to the man calling to me.
"Hello Preston, and to what do I owe the pleasure of speaking with you," I said sarcastically
"I was looking for you but I see you're leaving." He shifted the weight of his heavy lazer-musket in his hands.
"Ya i got things to do Preston, I can't sit on a bench and watch people farm all day." A twinge of annoyance flowed through me.
"Ok I get it, do what'ca gotta," -Preston paused to think through his words before speaking again.- "I have one request since you're out though. I have gotten word of another settlement that needs your help..... I'll mark it on your map!"
His face was stern as he said those words, like every other time he told you of a settlement in need of your aid. At first you were glad to help but now with the consent flow of towns being attacked by radiers or ghouls it's gotten overwhelming.
"Preston this the 10th settlement this week I can't keep doing, this especially since you seem to not be able to spare a single soldier to help me out." My blooded as I began an argument I'd never win.
"(Y\N), I would give you help if I could, but everyone here has to stay otherwise this place will never be what Ma'ma Murphy envisioned. Sanctuary is THE base for the Minute Men right now, it needs to be protected. It's been 3 years since we all first got here and nothing is done. This place isn't safe until all the fortifications are done right, we can half-ass this! That's why you need to go out there and save the people we can't."
I sighed 'I really don't know why I tried. I might not like it but he's right, the moment I joined these people I became responsible for them.' -I spun on my heel.- "Alright, ok, just don't expect me to be around for a while." I turned my body to keep moving.
"General, be safe out there!" He yelled as I walked away. I could hear the disappointment in his voice that naturally developed whenever talked.
"I will, goodbye Preston!" I waved and continued walking. I whistled for Dogmeat and he ran to my side. I bent down and took his face in my hands letting him lick my face."Come on boy let's go on adventure."
