A/N: Yeah this is later than I said it would be but in my defense school was feeling very murderous

Happy pulled up to Midtown High School in Tony's least expensive car, which still looked more expensive than any of the other cars outside the school. He scanned the crowds of kids that were gathered outside the school but didn't see the curly brown hair and puppy eyes of the newest edition to the Avengers family. He decided to wait a few minutes, figuring Peter was just talking to some friends. Nothing could be going wrong, could it?
Meanwhile, Peter was dying. Okay, that's overselling it. He was dying, just severely injured. You see when Peter had been trying to leave school, Flash had grabbed him and pulled him to the back of the school for his usual beating. But this was not what had injured. Flash was so weak that he could hardly leave a bruise for more than an hour because of Peter's super healing. What had injured him was much worse than Flash, much worse than anything Peter could have imagined.
Happy sat in the car for twenty minutes. Twenty minutes. Tony had called him twice to ask why he wasn't back with Peter yet. He waited the whole twenty minutes before storming out of the vehicle and searching all over the school. The further he went into the school, the more nervous he got. First, he saw Peter's backpack, thrown against a locker. Then, it was small patches of black goo that seemed strangely alive. Lastly, it was a shattered window that pointed behind the school. He gulped as he turned the corner, not at all prepared for what he saw.
Peter was laying on the ground, in a puddle of blood and more of the black goo. His science pun t-shirt and jeans were torn to shreds like sharp claws had easily sliced threw them. He ran to Peter, kneeling down by his side. He was still conscious, which was good, but it was clear that he was fading fast. Too fast. Happy called Tony as fast as possible, whispering calming words to Peter the whole time. He tried to use the shredded clothing to stop the bleeding, but the blood seemed to come from everywhere. He was covered in deep scratches and what looked like bite marks all over his chest. Happy couldn't think of what possibly could have done this, or why it did it to some poor orphan. Or wait, Peter wasn't an orphan anymore. He was a part of the Avenger family. Which while having many upsides, came with risks. Risks that they shouldn't have put on a teenager. The team arrived, bursting through the school doors and running to Peter's side. They all made attempts to help Peter. Tony tried to sew the scratches closed, but the black goo the had gathered around the wound kept eating its way through it. Steve tried to clean the wounds, but the black goo absorbed the cleaning and became larger. Bruce tried to give him blood, but the black goo forced the needle out of Peter's body. Nothing was working. Everything was wrong. This was not how it was supposed to end! They were supposed to be a family! This had to be a nightmare, it just had to be!
The Avengers team gathered around Peter and began to sing a quiet song to him, a song of goodbye, a song of love, and a song of family. Peter's eyes fell shut, and the Avengers all kissed his cheek, whispering their words of goodbye in his ears.
