Hailey looks into Isaac's eyes filled with horror. "Run upstairs, hurry!" She says.
"But..."
"Don't worry I'll be right behind you." Isaac runs up the stairs with Hailey right behind him. “Turn right at the top and open the door!” She says. They both get in the room; Hailey shuts the door, and moves a dresser in front of the door.
“Now open that window and-”
“We aren’t jumping out of a two-story window! Are you crazy?” Isaac cuts in saying the second part with a harsh whisper.
“It’s okay the roof is right under the window.” Hailey laughs. Walking over to the window opens it and steps out on the roof. Isaac sighs and does the same as Hailey. She walks over to the edge of the roof and sits down dangling her feet. Then without warning she jumps off, Isaac runs to the edge and looks down. Hailey sticks out her tongue, “Come on slowpoke!” Isaac jumps off and lands next to her without making a sound, he looks at her. Isaac looks around then grabs Hailey’s hand and starts running towards the open space behind the house.
“It is this way.” He says smiling. He stops suddenly then, Isaac stretches out his ivory, black wings, and pulls Hailey to his chest. “Hold on tight!” he takes off from the ground. Hailey buries her face his chest, her arms are wrapped around him under his arms, and his arms are around Hailey’s waist. He looks down at her and laughs, “It is okay to look now.”
She lifts her head up and looks around, she looks down and sees how far off the ground they are and tightens her grip around Isaac. They are flying over the woods, when a clearing in the middle of the forest comes in to view.
“Is that it?” Hailey asked.
“No, but we have to walk from there because it is too hard to land at my house, the forest is too dense.” He lands in the small clearing, folding his wings. He is out of breath from carrying Hailey since it has been a while when he has lasted flew.
“Here let’s take a break so you can catch your breath. We can eat, are you hungry?” Hailey commands, sits down, and pulls Axel out of her hood. Isaac looks around a little then sits down beside her. Hailey takes off her backpack and gets out a dog food can, and bowl. She puts food in the bowl and sets it down and Axel starts eating it. She also pulls out ten granola bars (since that is what I’m eating right now XD).
“You want some?” she asked, looking over at him.
“Yeah,” Hailey hands him five, “thanks.” Axel finished his food, curls up in Isaac’s lap, Isaac pets him, and Axel falls asleep. A few minutes of silence and awkward stares, Hailey gets up and puts her backpack on. Axel and Isaac get up, Isaac stretches, and Axel yawns.
“Which way captain?” Hailey smiled.
Isaac looks around, “it is this way.” He starts walking into the forest, with Axel hopping in circles around him.
“Why do you keep looking around?”
“To make sure we aren’t being followed by those… people.” Hailey nods and jogs to catch up with him. A faint sound comes from behind them, they stop walking and listen closer. It was a voice humming what it seems to be a lullaby. Axel whines and try’s to cover his ears. Isaac gasps for air, grabs the sides of his head, and falls to his knees then on his side.
"Isaac!" Hailey screams.
Hehehe what a cliffhanger right? >:p I guess you have to find out in the next chapter. Remember every vote makes me right quicker. :p Also just want to say I have a new story out also called Nick in Ghost Town. No it is not about ghost town the band it is an actual ghost town. It is about a ghost and a few human friends that runaway. Their is a big surprise at the end too!
