We're pieces of a puzzle
So it's what they all say
When we confront them
How we dont belong
You'll find your place
They encourage,
I'm a puzzle piece who will never fit into
The box they call society
I'm out of place
Bent all out of shape
Missing my edge
I'm the extra piece you leave behind that
Clearly didn't belong as a whole
From a different box
You'll forget me
They always do
The minute my mouth shuts
The moment my presence is gone
It's as if I vanished into dust
I was never there.
I'm a misfit puzzle piece
Who Hope's maybe
They belong somewhere
Other than here.
