I remember the gentle breeze , blowing through the distant melody of summer,
How the trees glew with a vibrant green
And how the smiles lifted the sunsets
But I also remember how those smiles
Faded into lost eyes and melted tears
As the moon sang his lullaby
How we cried to the stars
To be rid our scars
And how our hearts bled
Through the cracks of our torn skin
Seeping through the seems
Of what once was
Oh, how I remember
The last summer
Of our lives.
