"Tyler! I hope you're up or else you will be late for school again!", a voice came from the hall below loud and clear, but somehow was overpowered by another voice in the room.
"Zzzzzzzzz...", wrapped under his soft and comfortable blanket and snoring like a baby panda hibernating for winter was Young Tyler!
His room was unlike other boys, it didn't have any inspirational quotes of an iconic personality, he did not have of his clothes lying around in a pile somewhere in the corner of his room, and he certainly did not have any playboy magazines hidden under his bed.
"Tyler Dorian! Wake up already, it's 8 am you will miss your bus!", Julian yelled as she opened the door to his room.
"It's a Saturday mom, how can you forget that? Also, school got over a week ago and you are still carrying on with this unnecessary schedule of waking up at 8 am?!", Tyler yelled back with his blanket still covering his face.
"There are only 3 days left for college honey, and frankly there is no way that you are getting up early for class if you cannot even wake up with me yelling on top of my voice!", Julian replied sarcastically, she then turns around and notices the picture hung on the wall next to Tyler's door, it had a picture of a boy receiving a certificate and medal with the bottom of the frame reading, Valedictorian, a smile came across her face as she touched the portrait and then suddenly she seemed calm,"Get ready young man, we need to go for our morning walk!"
"Ughhhhhhh not again!", a voice came from under the sheets.
The door slams shut,"I am expecting you to be downstairs in 10 minutes, or you are starving until lunchtime."
As a groan of disappointment followed, the blanket is suddenly thrown across the bed with sheer force and behind it, sitting up half naked, a white boy with curly brown hair, straight nose and a thin layer of fat on the sides of his face that he called cheeks.
His hazel brown eyes were squinting trying to look for his glasses, which he kept on his drawer beside his bed. He grabbed it and jumped out of bed to get ready for his morning walk which was supposed to begin by 8:10 am, it was already 8:07 am.
He walked into his bathroom and started to think what to do first, brushing? Quick body wash? Using the toilet? As he was planning this out, a blue coloured mouth freshener on top of the shelf caught his eye, completely out of place from the rest of the toiletries, and then he heard another voice from downstairs,"2 minutes until starvation!", he shrugged his shoulders as he looked at his reflection in the mirror and said," Fuck it, it's not like somebody is going to check me out at this time of the day."
He used the mouth wash, splashed some water on his face and soon jogged downstairs to greet his mother who was waiting at the doorstep with two water bottles.
"A green hoodie? When have you ever had a green hoodie?", Julian asked as she opened the front door.
"It's Hannah's.", Tyler replied while looking for his shoes.
"Oh, yes Hannah Reed. How can I forget her?", Julian replied with a soft voice.
Tyler did not reply to that question, casually removing his orange football flats from the shoe rack.
"Oh come on don't tell me you're wearing orange with that?! Atleast do justice to the poor girl's clothing!", Julian replied.
Tyler ignored that comment too and stood up with his shoes tied up, ready for his morning walk,"Shall we?"
Julian shakes her head in disappointment and walks out of the house,"Don't walk around me with that kind of dressing sense.."
Tyler chuckled,"You say that every time mom, just because you're a fashion designer by profession but alas, I am your son!"
Julian looks back at Tyler with a smile on her face,"Gosh, that is the only thing left to talk about now is it?!", she says as she grabs him in a headlock and drags him out of the house.
