Chapter 32:What?!

~Nat's POV~

Me and Noah broke apart the kiss when we saw Luke.He looked hurt."Luke I-"

"Save it.Thought you were not ready for another relationship.Looks like I'll never be good enough for you" He cuts me off.He stormed out of the room.

"I'll go talk to him" I said a got up but Noah grabbed my wrist.

"Nat there's no point"He says.

"I can't just leave him like this." I said.

"He's not gonna listen to you.Lets just stay here" He says then leans in.I push him away.

"Noah I am going to talk to him.He's my best friend" I said.

"Your going to waste your breathe.He's not going to listen.He's pathetic" He said.That made me mad.No one calls my best friend pathetic.

"He's not pathetic!In fact he's better than you.Your never there for me and he was when you hurt me!" I yelled and ran out of the change room.I wanted to find Luke.I went back to the cafeteria where everyone was.

"Nat!" Soph says, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine.Have you seen Luke?" I asked.She shakes her head and I sign.

"What happend?" Calum asks.

"Um...I'll tell you later.I have to find him" I said.

"Wait Nat!I have some extra clothes if you want" Lou said.I nodded.We walked towards her locker and she hands me the clothes.

"Thanks" I said.

"No problem.So what happend?"

"Luke saw me and Noah kiss" I said.

"Why did you-never mind we'll talk later" She says.I nodded and walked to the washroom then got changed.I looked everywhere for Luke but I couldn't find him.The bell rang and I got to class.Hopefully he's there.

~Luke's POV~

After I saw Nat and Noah kiss I stormed out but they started talking.I wanted to hear what they were saying.I hid outside the change room and listened.

"I'll go talk to him" I heard Nat say.

"Nat there's no point" Noah says.

"I can't just leave him like this"

"He's not going to listen to you.Lets just stay here"

"Noah I am going to talk to him.He's my best friend"

"He's not pathetic!In fact he's better than you.Your never there for me and he was when you hurt me!" Nat yells.
She runs out the change room but she didn't see me because she ran out the other side.I wanted to run after her but hen a voice stopped me.

"Eavesdropping?" Noah asked.I stayed silent.

"Your never going to be with her.Your not good enough for her" He says.I was trying not to punch him.

"She will be with me" He says and about to walk out but then I said "No, she won't"

"What did you say?"

"I said you will never be with her" He looked mad.

"I have a better chance than you do"He scoffs."And stay away from her" He says then walks out and the bell rang.

~Nat's POV~

Me and Luke haven't talked for the whole day.Partly because we didn't have any classes together for the last periods.I got everything from my locker in my bag and looked for Luke.He was packing up.I walked towards him but Noah stopped me.

"Hey" He smiled.

"Hi...I have to go talk to Luke" I said trying to pass him but he stopped me.

"Look Nat I just want to apologize for what I did" He say

"Can we talk later" I said annoyed.Luke looked at us and then walked away.

"No I wanna talk now" He says.Luke walked out the door."The kiss we had today...did you feel anything?"

"Noah I'll talk to you tomorrow.I have to go apologize to my best friend" I said then running off.I ran after Luke.

"Luke!" I yelled.He turned and looked at me.

"Luke I'm really sorry" I said.

"Nat.Its fine" He says.

"No it's not.I don't know why I kissed him but-" He cuts me off by hugging me.His arms were around me and I felt safe.

"Y-your not mad?" I asked.

"No"

"How come?"

"I heard you and Noah talking.I was outside the change room but when you ran out you ran on the other side" He says.

"You heard everything?" I asked.

"Yes" He says chuckling.

"I meant it" I said.He pulls me closer and said "I know you did" Next thing I know,we were hugging in the middle of the sidewalk.I didn't care if people gave us weird looks,because everything felt right.

"Noah wants me to stay away from you" Luke says pulling away.

"Why?"

"He wants you back.D-do you feel the same way?" He asks.I actually don't know.I mean Noahs great and all but I don't think we're good for each other.I mean,we barely have anything in common."Um...no" I said.

"Your lieing" He says.

"No I'm not"

"Then why did you kiss him today?"

"I don't know I wasn't thinking" I said.

"Your lie-"

"Luke just drop it.I want to go one day without having an arguement and I don't want my good day gone bad" I cut him off.He nodds.

We started to walk back home.While we were walking I got a phone call from someone.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hi.Is this Natalie Carter?" A woman's voice said.

"Uh..yeah"

"Your mom was in a car accident and is have surgery right now"

"What?!" I felt the whole inside of me die.Nothing bad can happen to my mom.Shes the only family member I have Thats with me now.With my dad not here and my brother off to College,shes the only one.

"Hello?Hello?" The woman said.I didn't want to keep talking.Luke took the phone.

"Hi.I'm Natalie's friend.What happend?" Luke asks.As the woman explained everything,he looked at me with wide eyes."Okay,we'll be there soon" Luke says then hangs up.
"Nat?Are you okay" I shake my head and started crying.He pulls me into a hug and I cried in his chest.

"She's going to be okay" He says.I kept crying.My mom was the only person I loved a lot.If anything happens to her,i don't know what I'll do.

"The woman said that she has brain damage and is loosing a lot of blood" He says.Brain damage?Is she going to remember everything?She'll be fine I thought to myself.My vision started to get blurry and my head was hurting.I started to lose my balance. Then,everything went black...

A/N: Heres chapter 32.So glad Nat and Luke are okay now.Hope Nat and her mom are alright.Whatever happens,Luke will be there to comfort her.
