Grey

The group walked down a very long and very grey hallway.

Though Frisk felt better about herself from the pep talk she received a few minutes ago, she still had an overwhelming sense of dread hanging over her head. The way that the demon had toyed with her was not a way that she had liked, at all. And not only was she defenseless against them, but so was Sans as well. The thought made her shiver a bit.

Frisk kept her jacket zipped all the way to the top, and pulled the bottom down passed her hips, covering as much as she could.

'You doin' alright, kid?' Sans asked her.

Frisk shrugged. 'Better. But I'm still shaken about what happened before, with them.'

She felt Sans give a shutter. 'Honestly, so am I.'

She shook her head. Don't think about it. Just think about something else.

"Why is it so grey?" Frisk asked. "It looks sad..."

"It's kinda a long story," Other Sans said.

"I'll tell it," Flowey suggested. "It's not like we have anything better to do while we walk. And I know it by heart."

"You sure 'bout that, buddy?" Other Sans raised a bone brow. "It's really long."

"No, I want to hear it," Frisk said. "Now you've made me curious."

Flowey nodded. "I've got it. Don't worry."

The group walked down the hall and saw an incredible view of the city below, still grey and sad, but beautiful at the same time.

Flowey started.

"A long time ago, a human fell into the ruins. Injured by its fall, the human called out for help."

After gazing at the city below for a minute, the group began moving again.

"Asriel, the king's son, heard the human's call. He brought the human back to the castle. Over time, Asriel and the human became like siblings."

They round the corner and walked down another hall long hallway.

"The King and Queen treated the human child as their own. The underground was full of hope."

They came to a house that looked suspiciously similar to Toriel's house, but colored grey again. Frisk didn't want to intrude, but Other Sans ushered her in.

"Then... One day... The human became very ill. The sick human had only one request. To see the flowers from their village."

The house was empty, fortunately. But as they went to the staircase that was supposed to lead down to the exit, it was caged off. They needed to find the two matching keys.

"But there was nothing we could do.

The next day.

The next day.

...

The human died."

Frisk felt a pang of sorrow from that line. The poor prince... the poor human. Still, she had work to do. They walked through the house, looking for the lost keys.

"Asriel, wracked with grief, absorbed the human's soul. He transformed into a being with incredible power. With the human soul, Asriel crossed through the barrier."

Frisk entered the child's bedroom to find two twin beds and two small boxes that looked like wrapped up gifts. She opened the first one and inside was a heart shaped locket. Out of curiosity she picked it up and ran her finger over it. It was beautiful, but not what she needed. Plus it probably belonged to someone who had sentimental value towards it. So she put it back.
