As the booming noise vanished, so did the demon. Sans fell back on his rear and took a few deep breaths, trying to slow his quickened heartbeat. The adrenaline was pumping in their veins. As the room grew silent, all he could hear was their heartbeat in his ears. He took in a shaky breath, and slowly let it out.
'... See? Told you I'd blast 'em to next week.'
Frisk let out a shaky breath, then gave a wheezy, 'Uh-huh...'
Flowey, who was still attached to the human's arm, was shaking like a leaf. "...Wh-what the f—?"
Other Sans shortcutted to their side. "What the hell what that about?! You tryin' to kill me?!"
Sans stared up at his counterpart with wide eyes, and pointed a shaky finger at where the demon had been. "You didn't hear... or see any of that?"
"Any of what?!" Flowey shouted.
Sans took in, then let out another breath. "They were right behind us. Talkin' to us. And they..." He remembered the feeling of the demon's breath and lips on the back of their neck, and shivered. He didn't like that feeling. "...they did somethin' else."
The skeleton and flower stared at him, expressions full of confusion and shock by what they heard.
"Ooookaaaay," Flowey said as he slowly moved from the human's arm to the skeleton's arm. "If it happens again, I don't want to be in the middle of all of that."
Sans felt a pang of sadness from Frisk. 'F-Flowey... But... He h-helped me feel safer...'
Sans tried to talk her down. 'Frisk, it's probably better this way. If they do show up again, it won't be safe for him to be so close to us.'
He could feel Frisk sobbing from within. 'S-Sans... I'm just s-so scared! I don't want them to come back! I want to hug my friends! They make me feel safe!'
Sans bit his lip and hugged his arms. 'We'll be okay. I'm not leavin' you, and you can count on that.'
Frisk sniffed, then hummed, 'Mmhmm.'
Sans picked himself up. "Let's hurry up and go before—"
As the group stood up, Sans looked down the hall to see the demon standing nearly fifteen feet away.
"Nice try. But you can't get rid of me that easily."
Sans clenched his jaw, and took a step back, away from them.
"H-Hey," Other Sans tried. "What's—?"
The child in green held a finger to their lips as they spoke to the human. "Shh. Don't let it spill, okay? We keep this our little—"
Sans pointed directly where they stood. "They're right there."
The skeleton and Flowey looked in the direction, but saw nothing.
The demon blinked in offense, then narrowed their eyes. "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO PLAY ALONG YOU BASTARD!"
Seeing them lose their cool gave Sans a boost of confidence. "Well, we're not playin' your game. Now move. We need to go that way."
Other Sans and Flowey looked back and forth between the human, and where they had pointed. Were they talking?
Other Sans pointed at where he thought they would be. "Y-Yeah! Scram already!"
The demon calmed down, ignored the skeleton, and laughed. "Do you honestly think I'll move? I haven't even gotten to see my dear Frisk yet."
