st. judes academy, est. since 1867
R o s i e and Tobby we're dropped off in two different buildings. Toby was first, at the middle school building and Rosie last at the highschool building. St. Judes was nothing compared to her old school, first step at the entrance and she was already in awe.
The ceilings we're high, with caved walls that had numerous framed paintings, marbled floors and pillars. Trees surrounded the whole academy giving it an errie look at first but somewhow relaxing when up close. All the doors are double with hardwood and crystal detailing, she took the whole place in and for some reason she felt safe. Rosie turned to her dad who had a straight face, she taken back on how silent he got as soon as they entered the school premises.
"Dad?" Rosie tugged on his sleeve, capturing his attention. Her dad looked at her and adjusted his glasses.
"Oh I'm just practicing the meeting-the-headmaster face" he joked and pointed at the door that had big capital letters spelt headmaster.
Suddenly, Rosie's hand felt clammy. She tried to calm herself down and smoothed out her dark red and navy blue plaid skirt, and her school blazer. Her father was talking to the receptionist and Rosie looked around the recieving area, the headmaster kept a glass case full of memorebilia. Some were trophies, pictures and plaques of recognition, but one stood out and it was a crest; at the very top of the shelf. before she could take a closer look, her father called her and opened the door for her to enter first.
Evelyn Cross was her name, written in a gold plaque centered on the desk. She then was met by a woman in her forties, with short jet black hair that rested on her shoulders ending with a soft curl, a strand of pearls on her neck dressed in a deep red dress. She looked etherial, like no other woman was allowed to be graceful and poised. She had a kind smile on, but Rosie was so intimidated she nearly forgot how to speak.
"Mason! Good to have you back," Evelyn chirped.
Rosie looked at her dad, who was still stoic, "This must be your daughter Rosie, please! Sit, sit!" she gracefully pointed on the two plush couches in front of her.
Both Rosie and her father followed, Evelyn opened Rosie's file and studied her records. She then gave Rosie the look of approval before closing it, "As expected being Mason Park's daughter, St. Judes is delighted to have you Rosie"
"Oh thank you, Headmaster Cross." Rosie shyly bowed her head and smiled to her dad who gave her a sly thumbs up.
"Please, call me Miss Evie" Evelyn said before turning to her father, "How long has it been Mason? twelve years?"
