ch. 10 | brother.

A f t e r the parade, Chanyeol went home as soon as it was over, he got a text from his dad saying that he'll be out of town for a few days and told him to make dinner for his younger brother Lucas. Chanyeol tossed his car keys onto the dish by the table near their entry way and proceeded to the kitchen with some groceries.

"LUUUUUKE" he screamed, his deep groggy voice echoing the entire house.

"Yo!" Lucas replied as he ran down the stairs.

Lucas entered the kitchen dressed in his own soccer uniform from Spacer, with his sleeves rolled up. He took a bread stick and hopped on the kitchen island as he watched Chanyeol make dinner.

"What's up rival?" Lucas said jokingly, Chanyeol chuckled in return and threw him a piece of carrot.

Lucas was five years younger than him but he is already near his height, they had the same voice and built; enherited from their father. Chanyeol adored Lucas from the day he was born, he saw him as a gift, a breath of fresh air for him and his father. Right after his mother's death, his father excommunicated himself from the Park family. Chanyeol was only five. He never understood why, until he accended.

"Pop's out of town so I'm making dinner, and you need to help me set the table" Chanyeol informed.

Lucas went to work right away and told Chanyeol about his day. It was easy for them to bond since they share the same hobbies, however it was always Lucas that takes after Chanyeol; since having a competatively challenged brother he doesn't always seem to be set in one hobby but he would try all. Lucas had always liked that about his brother, and how he would always try to include him no matter what.

"So I see there's a hottie that moved next door," Lucas wriggled his eybrows at Chanyeol.

"And?" Chanyeol dragged out as he took out meat from it's packaging.

"Nothing, I'm just saying she's hot. I see her jog during the morning every weekend now. Doesn't she go to St. Judes?" Lucas babbled, "Haven't you seen her around?"

"I've seen her" that was all Chanyeol said, Lucas grinned and gave his brother a teasing look as he continued fixing up the dinner table.

"What?"

"So, do you agree or nah?" Lucas laughed.

"Fine. She's hot okay? Geez Luke, keep it in your pants" Chanyeol came over and ruffled his brother's hair before placing down a bowl of Spaghetti and meatballs on the table.

"So the big game's on Friday, ready to lose littler brother?" Chanyeol teased as they sat down to eat.

They went on to talk more about the game on Friday and the movie they watched last Saturday with their dad at the theater. After dinner, Lucas was in charge of throwing out the trash. As he crossed the street to put the bags in the bin, he felt an excruciating pain take over his brain. He had dropped to bags and fell on his knees as he groaned in pain.

Rosie happened to be walking home from Mrs. Crussard's as she babysat her dog, and saw Lucas. "Oh my goodness," She gasped, she fell to his side and examined him before screaming for help.

Chanyeol then rushed the minute he heard, Lucas was sweating and looked like he was about to pass out. Rosie was bewildered and was dialing 911 before Chanyeol grabbed her wrists and said "No,".

"What? We need help!" Rosie fought.

"Just stay out of it," Chanyeol snapped before taking Lucas and putting him in the back of his car. He drove off rushing, leaving Rosie in the middle of the street.

"HOLY SHIT!" Lucas' screams can be heard from the inside as Chanyeol, Suho and Jisoo waited for him to get treated.

"You sure this is gonna work?" Chanyeol worriedly asked.

"Baek's mom is an expert," Suho assured, "but what I don't get is why is he showing signs like this... Luke's just fifteen" he wondered.

Chanyeol thought about the time he was about to accend and Lucas was showing the same symptoms. It wasn't new for their kind to accend early, but it was known to be a lot more dangerous and risky for an Angel's life to accend early. It happend to his uncle, which made their dad resentful towards the unfair life of fallen angels because of the curse.

Lucas screamed again getting Chanyeol's attention back. Jisoo looked at the door and then to Chanyeol worrying about what might be happening from behind.

"I'm fine" Chanyeol spoke, answering the thoughts clouding over Jisoo's head.

"He will be too" Suho said.

Jisoo's phone then rang and it was Rosie who was calling, she furrowed her eyebrows before going to the end of the hall to take the call. But before she could it had already ended. It didn't sit right with  Jisoo so she called her back, but Rosie didn't answer. When she got back it was only Suho who was left outside the bedroom door.

"Lucas is sleeping now, Baek's mom made him finish the antidote" Suho informed.

"I got a call from Rosie, but when I called her back I was led to voicemail" Jisoo pouted as she sat beside Suho.

"She probably dialled by mistake?" Suho shrugged, leaving Jisoo to wonder and toy with her phone.

Chanyeol took Lucas home and struggled to get him up to his room, he was knocked out from the antidote and was almost the same weight as him. He settled Lucas on the couch downstairs, fixing him up with some pillows and blankets so that he'd be comfortable. As Chanyeol went up to change his clothes, he noticed that Rosie's light was still on.

He peeked through the blinds of his window and saw her reading a book in her tshirt and shorts. He was about to get back into changing but he heard her thoughts again.

"I was only trying to help, was I prying too much?"

Chanyeol groaned and buried his face in his hands before walking off to open his blinds, and said "Hey new girl"

Rosie was startled, making her drop the book on her face. She groaned and looked up to him, with her face scrunched up. Chanyeol snickered. Rosie walked to her window, Chanyeol got a sight of her silky legs, and her imaginative figure as the light create a shadow over her white over sized shirt. He was about to say thank you but Rosie shut her window close and also her curtains.

"Asshole" was the last thing Chanyeol heard before he went to bed.
