Chapter 19: A druid's healing

"Aiolos?!" Dagen shouts getting down on his knees beside his bloody and bruised friend. He begins to shake him to get him to wake but Aiolos doesn't respond.

The rest of the kids where there know looks of confusion and concern on their face. 

"Felix Calliope get him downstairs to the couch. Jun bug get my stuff out the cabinet." Atticus orders as he disappears into his room. the kids do as they were told Felix and Calliope carried Aiolos, Calliope had the arms and Felix had the feet. Juniper and Marlowe went in the bottom kitchen cabinet and grabbed out a bowl and what looked to be a mini baseball bat to Dagen before they followed Calliope and Felix. Dagen stood their worried that Nero had did this to his friend. Did Nero find out that they know something? If so, would he just have him beaten to a bloody pulp? Or would he just kill him? Is he next or Juniper?

"Dagen snap out of it He's your friend you need to be down there if he wakes." Atticus states calmly putting a hand on Dagen's shoulder snapping out of his thoughts. 

Dagen coming back to reality nodded before following Atticus down the stairs where the rest waited for them. Once Atticus was down there, he opened the small brown bag he was carrying that Dagen didn't notice until now. He began to pull out what looked to be crystals.

"Dagen when he was at the door was, he holding his stomach and or side?" Atticus asks placing some crystals in the small wooden bowl Juniper and Marlowe brought down.

"Yeah he had his armed wrapped around it. why?"

"Juniper, Marlowe I need for you to check for internal bleeding, Felix Calliope I need you both to monitor his heart okay?"Felix and Calliope nodded not asking questions and begin to focus on the boys steady but weak heartbeat. Juniper and Marlowe cut open his shirt to see that he had bruising around his ribs and stomach. Marlowe felt around his ribs to see if anything was broken.

"I think he was one... no two broken ribs" Marlowe says before looking at Atticus. 

Dagen watched as Atticus just nodded as he continued to mash 3 crystals together. 

"What are you going to do? Shouldn't we just take him to the hospital?"

"I'm crushing these crystals together so I can begin a healing process for your friend. We're not going to take him to the hospital because there's a reason he walked past it to get to our home."

"oh" was all Dagen could say.

Atticus takes out two other crystals putting them on Aiolos's stomach and ribs. 

"Dagen take this this and just put a little water in it okay?" He asks handing him the bowl with the smashed crystals. Dagen nods a little and goes to the bathroom with the bowl and fills it with just a little bit of water before coming back and handing it to Atticus who then adds what looks like a mint leaf in it.

"What's mint going to do?" Dagen asks.

"Just flavor, No one likes the taste of plain crystals." Atticus replied before taking the bowl in one hand using the other to gently lift Aiolos head just enough before putting the bowl to his lip making him drink. Once it was done, Atticus put the bowl back on the table before going back to the crystals on his ribs and stomach. He pushed his glasses up a bit more before asking "How's the Heart?"

"It's getting stronger" Calliope replied which got a nod from Felix. 

"Good" Atticus replies before beginning to whisper something to himself Dagen about to ask what he was saying but stopped when Juniper covered his mouth. Suddenly the Crystals begin to glow as the black and blue bruises began to fade. Dagen watched as he's friends Swollen black eye started to fade back to normal, the bruising on his cheek, nose and lip began doing the same. Fading just like the ones on his stomach and ribs. Soon all that was left was the blood from where he's nose bled, a cut on his cheek followed by the bloodf rom that, cut on his bloody lip and just faint barely their bruises on his ribs.
