You start off the morning with your usual morning routine that is getting ready and heading towards the dinning hall to have breakfast. On the way, you stumbled upon two maids cleaning the palace walls and a smirk made it's way to your cold features. ' Ahh.. a nice way to lighten up my day.' You thought as you used your magic to make an illusion of a wild tiger in front of the maids which made them scream as they ran down the halls. You laughed in amusement when they were far enough so that they wouldn't think it was you, well you need to look after your image anyway. Just then a voice interupted you making you stop laughing. "I think you should give the maids some rest in their lives sister, or they would think our palace is haunted or something." Your eldest sister Astrid said giggling.
You smugged at her comment. "Well.. I couldn't help it now could I?" Astrid let out a loud laugh. "Always the magician aren't you? Well, you should teach me some next time then I'll flip you off your shoes [Y/N].." She teased. You eye rolled and knocked her off her shoes with your magic while saying."Your first lesson..." You continued walking leaving your sister on the floor as you could hear her yell your name.
"[Y/N]!!!!!!!!! " "You're welcome!" You yelled back with a smug look on your face.At the dinning hall, you sat across of your sister and beside your mother Queen Skadi while your father sat at the end of the table. "Oh dear,Astrid! What happened to your dress?" Your mother asked realising Astrid's dirty dress. "She tripped over a bucket filled with dirty water, mother." You lied with a smirk on your face. You heard Astrid groan. "Apparently that's thanks to [Y/N] mother... I really am greatful that she is willing to teach me magic. " Astrid eye rolled which made you chuckle and your mother shake her head. "You girls are not going to stay young forever.. you two need to grow up now. Act mature. I know it takes some time but try to work on it.." Your mother advised. You gritted your teeth. "Because we are going to be hand off to some random prince one day...?" You coldly replied taking the fork and shoving your breakfast into your mouth. Astrid shot up from her seat. "What?!" She shouted. "Mother, what am I hearing?!" She continued. Your mother struggled to find the right words to defend herself."W-Well... You see dear, I-... [Y/N] could you at least know how to keep a secret..?" She whispered to you.
You did not make eye contact with her but kept on eating while casually replied." I never promised..." Astrid heard your conversation and snapped. "Thank you [Y/N]. Mother, you never told me!" Just then your father shot back at her. "That's because you won't accept your responsibilities!!! As princesses, both of you will take over this kingdom one day! And one of you will rule another! You both have the abilities! Yes! But you are not ready to accept your fate! When will you ever learn?! Don't make me and your mother force both of you into marriage with any prince we find fit!!!"
His voiced echoed through the hallways making all the servants turn heads and wonder. You felt your chest hardened with anger and you stared coldly at the nearly empty plate in front of you. You knew your sister was now in tears and filled with rage as you hear her fast footsteps ran out of the hall. You yourself got up of your seat. "[Y/N]..." Your mother looked up at you with the kindest eyes. "I'm done..." You say as you turn away and walk out of the hall. You could hear your father, the king sigh out loud. As you walked into your room, you changed your into your most comfortable gown which had a hood and was in your favorite colour.
You grabbed your bag that was filled with journals, quill pens ,one magnifying glass, glass containers and one telescope before you could leave your room, your mother came up to you with a loving look on her face. "Are you going to meet the children again my dear?" She asked with a soothing tone. You nodded and looked down. You weren't really fond of meeting nobles or even commoners unlike Astrid and your parents who are social butterflies. These people they never seemed to be able to see you for who you are.
