It's almost 11 o'clock. It’s a cold morning, with a sky full of white clouds. The wind gently moves the curtains of the classroom.

The voice of the biology teacher, seems to go as slowly as the movement of the fabric. The watch hanging on top of the door marches at the same speed.

The ring bells, and Brett wakes up slowly from the chair, yawning.

I'm hungry, he decides, and gets up slowly from his chair. The professor writes the homework for tomorrow on the whiteboard, Brett takes a peak before leaving the classroom.
Although, he only does the homework he finds appealing. An essay? Yeah, maybe. If not, only with the final exam would be enough.

Next class is math. Coffee, he thinks, that's what I need.

Math is the only class he keeps himself awake for, not because he pretends to learn something new, but because he loves the sweet grave voice of the professor in charge.

Listening to him, is even more relaxing than a nap.

The coffee shop is on the first floor. Brett goes downstairs, looking straight to the floor, and barely raising his feet from the floor.

Today he's wearing a bright green cotton sweater. It's his mother's last christmas gift. He knows Brett loves wearing those kind of clothes.

Despite his looks and attitude, clothes are the only exception for Brett to carry on something loud and extrovert, when he's in a good mood.

He arrives to the coffee shop.
“Good morning. A mocha, please”, he asks gently. The cold weather makes him happy. The green sweater, gives him extra points. “Yes. Your id, please”, the cashier asks. Brett looks on his pockets.

Shit. “Oh, I forgot it”, he explains. “I’m sorry, this is a coffee shop exclusive for students. No id, no coffee”

Fuck. It wasn't on my pockets, my bag or my wallet. I hope I haven't lost it. I can't pay for another one right now.
His good mood is gone.
He's now sleepy and grumpy.
He came back to the classroom to see if it was there, but it wasn't. How I'm a gonna pay for another one? Shit...
When his day couldn't be any worse, he hears a familiar voice behind his back. Oh, no.

“Brett!”, the tall guy clings to him from behind, running and arm on his shoulder. He smells like chocolate. Ah, like the mocha I couldn't buy. Brett keeps his eyes to the floor. Defeated. God hates me, isn't it?

“How are you? Oh, it's free time for everyone, right? I was so lucky to-”, he keeps talking with a loud sweet voice.

Brett tries to scape but this guy is strong. He gives up the hug, but keeps swearing inside. He isn't listening, he only hears a bunch of words that are coming from the mouth of the guy who keeps getting inside his life.
Brett notices that walking besides someone, is kind of tricky. But, as they keep walking it becomes more comfortable. It's...warm in here.

He keeps talking nonstopless as they walk across the hall in direction of the coffee shop. Brett doesn't mind. He's used to sit around with chattery people, and just stay quiet all the time. It's easy for him.

The sweet scent of the coffee makes Brett angry all over again. I hate my life, he thinks, when Eddy pronounces the magic word:
“Hey, Brett! Want some coffee?”, he asks smiling at him.

Brett finally turns to see him, and thanks to the magic words, he sees Eddy almost in a magical white brilliant light, smiling.
A flash of joy lightens up his eyes for an instant.
“Yes, please”, he answers.
