Heartless?

Chapter 4

I groan trying to sit up. A hand pushes me back.
"Lay down Ash," Kaiser says. I open my eyes to see Will sitting in a chair next to me, eyes wide and Kaiser standing on the other side of me.
Will jumps up. He hugs me softly, trying not to hurt me. I smile at him. Kaiser laughs.
"I'm sorry Ash. I didnt know that was going to happen. I didnt mean to hurt you. I'm so so so sorry and I-" I cut him off with a kiss. I pull away and chuckle, then grimace in pain.
"It's fine." I say. He sits down holding my hand. I look over at Kaiser. She looks at me and then at a piece of paper on the counter.
" So. I'm going to help you sit up," she says. I prepare myself as she pulls me up. It didn't hurt too bad. I feel two large things protruding out of my back. I turn and look at them.
"WHA-?!" I scream. Two wings protrude from my back. One is green and the other is white. Just like Will's...
Will and Kaiser chuckle. I stretch my wings out. A small tail comes from behind me. It's silver with green lines through it. I bring it in front of me.
"Omg!!! He has a tail! Kaiser he has a tail!" Will screams shaking Kaiser. She groans and pushes him off her.
" Yeah. I know those are rare. Hes basically a duplicate of you William, " she states. I look over at Will.
"You have a tail too?!? Can you show me?" I ask.
" No. "
"Please?"
"No."
Pretty please? "
"Still a no."
"Pretty please with sprinkles on top? "
He sighs.
"Fine." I pump my fists in the air. He sits beside me and takes out his tail. Its the same as mine just the colors reversed. I hold his tail in my hands, inspecting it.
It starts wagging. I chuckle.
"Your tail wags when you're happy?" I ask. He nods blushing. I burst out laughing. Kaiser chuckles next to Will, who's sulking. I hug him. My tail wraps around his waist.
"I missed you," He whispers. I freeze.
"How long was I out?" I ask pulling away from the hug. Kaiser and Will look at each other.
" About two weeks. Why? " Kaiser responds. I grab my phone and go onto Instagram. The portal was destroyed by the scientists. People were spamming my dms asking where I was.
I sigh. I post a picture of the infirmary and tell them what happened. I turn off my phone and turn to Will and Kaiser.
"The portal was destroyed." I state. They grin and high five. I get up from the infirmary bed. I leave the room without another word.
I walk into a random guest room and use their bathroom. I take a quick shower and then sit in the corner of the room. I sit out of sight between the bed and the wall.
My damp wings brush against the bed as I curl up. Polly is going to kill everyone. And it's all my fault. I opened the portal. So I'm responsible for them killing people.
My vision goes blurry and I can't breath. Shes going to kill everyone and it's all my fault. People are dying because of you. I start shaking violently.
I shake my head. I see all the people being killed by Poly and her demons. I see all the innocent people dying.
I feel a hand on my face. I can't look at him. I'm a murderer. He tilts my head up and forces me to look at him.
"Ash. What's wrong?" He asks. I shake even harder and shake my head no. He pulls me on his lap and runs his hands through my hair.
I burst. "I'm going to be in charge of letting Polly kill everyone because I was the one who opened the portal because I banged my head on it and pushed the lever and now people are dying because of me and-" Will cuts me off.
"The portal was going to be opened at some point Ash. Sure you did open it, but it's not your fault that Polly likes to kill," he states.
I manage to get my breathing back to normal. I sigh quietly and lean into his chest. He strokes the top of my wings and I snuggle into him further.
I hum in content. He pulls his hand back and puts it on my face. He looks into my silver eyes.
He leans in and kisses me. I fall backwards on the carpet and I pull him with me. He wraps his tail around my waist and puts his hand in my hair.
He pulls back and sits up. He looks behind him and I get up. A little demon is standing there.
"Ash. This is Caramel, Kaiser's little sister," He introduces. I walk over to her and crouch in front of her.
"Hi Caramel," I say. She waves at me and then takes my hand in hers. I smile at her as she looks at my hand.
" You're William's mate. " she states. I look at her confused. Will tenses up behind me.
"You have the same mark as William on your hand. It's my gift," she states. She walks back out of the room.
I grab Will's hand and pull him out of the guest room. I walk over to our bedroom and sit on the bed. Will sits beside me.
"So. We're mates." I say. He nods. I take his hands in mine and he looks up at me surprised.
" I'm not mad. You're a pretty awesome dude, " I explain. He smiles. He hugs me and I rest my head on his shoulder. I wrap my wings around him.
I accidentally yawn and Will sees it. He pulls back from the hug.
"You need to sleep." He says.
" No I don't. I just got up, " I say yawning. He chuckles and lays down. He holds out his arms.
I sigh and then fall into them. He wraps his wings around me and I soon drift off to sleep.
