Heartless?

Chapter 12

"Leave me alone!" I scream at the guard. She laughs and drags me out of the cell. Arsenic runs over to the bars and watches as the guard pulls me away.
She turns a corner and I can't see them anymore. I lift my wings up so they don't drag on the ground. She opens the door and throws me into the throne room.
Polly and Tucker sit in their thrones, looking down at me. The guard walks out and locks the door behind her. I stand up and walk over to them. I stop in front of them and look them over.
"What do you want from me?" I snap at them. Tucker glares at me and I shrink back in fear. Polly laughs and stands up. She walks over to me and touches my cheek. I move away and she steps closer.
"You know exactly what we want. What is your gift?" She asks me. I shrug and stay silent. Tucker grabs a whip from the table next to him. Tears prick at my eyes.
" Okay. Let's make a deal. If you tell us your gift, we'll let him go, " Tucker says. A guard drags Arsenic in the room. I want to scream at Tucker for misgendering them but I stay silent. Their eyes are on the ground and they're shaking violently.
"Okay. I'll tell you. But let them go and give them to Will," I tell Tucker. He nods and the guard releases Arsenic. They look at me fearfully as Polly snaps her fingers and another guard appears. He leads Arsenic out of the room and they look at me in fear. 
I smile softly and wave. They wave back with tears in their eyes. I go to run towards them but Polly grabs my arm and holds me in place. The guard closes the door behind them and I smile. At least they're safe.
Tucker walks up to me and snaps the whip on his hand. The other guard stands behind me, her wings blocking my way out.
"Okay. My gift is that I have premonition dreams," I come up with randomly. Polly laughs and claps her hands. Tucker smiles at her and then turns back to me.
"I knew you had one! You could be so much use to us! " She exclaims excitedly. I mentally cringe at my lie. Of all the ones I could have picked! I tuck my wings behind my back and give a fake smile.
Tucker walks up to me and grabs my hand. Polly grabs the other and they sit there in silence for a moment. I keep smiling, trying not to show how uncomfortable I am.
"You are going to be one of us. You will help us with everything," Tucker tells me. I freeze in fear but then force myself to relax. I nod slowly and they let go of my hands.
"This will be great! Gerda, take him to his chambers," Polly says. The guard, whom has been taking me places since the first day I got here, walks up to me.
I smile at her and follow her to my room. Gerda walks into an elevator, which goes up a couple of floors before stopping. She opens a door and pushes me into my room. She locks it from the outside and leaves.
I turn around and gape at the room. The bed sits in the middle with light green sheets. A dresser sits beside the bed and on the other wall there's a door to the bathroom and closet.
A phone sits on top of the nightstand and I run towards it. I grab it off of the stand and turn it on. I walk over to the door and listen outside. When I stop hearing footsteps I run to the bathroom and turn the shower on.
I dial the number for Will's phone. I hit call as the room starts to fog up. I lock the bathroom door as the phone starts to ring. The phone rings a couple of times before he answers.
"Hello?" He asks. His voice is rough and I hear him sniffle over the phone.
" Will, it's me," I say. The line goes silent for a minute.
"Who is this?" He asks. I sigh sadly. Maybe he already forgot about me.
"It's Ash. Look I don't have long," I tell him. I hear him gasp on the line. He screams for the others.
" Ash! My love! Are you okay? " he asks. I smile softly. He did remember me.
"Yeah I'm fine. Arsenic is coming your way. They're a child I met here and I told Polly and Tucker my gift so they could escape," I tell them. Kaiser gasps on the other line.
"You found out your gift and told them? " she screams angrily.
"No. I don't know what my gift is. I made one up," I tell her. Tears prick my eyes as nobody says anything. I hear Will ask the others to leave and footsteps.
"Look Ash. We don't mind if you don't have it or know it yet," Will says. I smile in relief. I hear a knock on my door.
"I have to go, " I say and hang up. I open the cabinet and throw the phone in there. I take off my clothes and jump into the shower. I hear the door open outside of the bathroom.
I grab a shampoo bottle and open it. I decide to actually take a shower so when I get out I don't seem suspicious. I get out and grab a towel. I dry off and grab my old clothes. I throw them on and quickly brush my hair out.
I walk out of the bathroom and see a female demon sitting on the bed. I stand in front of the door and watch her. She waves me over and I walk over to her.
She stands up and looks me over. She grabs a tape measure and measures me. I stand still and let her. She then shakes her hands and clothes appear on the bed. 
She sits in the chair next to the bed as I look the clothes over. I sift through them and set the ones that I don't like aside. She watches carefully and takes note of which ones I don't like.
"I'll help you," she says finally. I look over at her confused. She walks over to me and sits on the bed.
"I want to get out of here too. I want to find my mate. I know she's out there. I never wanted to work for Polly but it was my mom's decision, " she says. I nod and take her hand softly.
"We'll get out of here," I tell her. She smiles and grabs the clothes that I didn't like. She goes to walk out but stops in front of the door. She turns around and looks at me.
"I'll be back tomorrow. I'm basically your maid of sorts," she says. I smile sympathetically. She walks out and I go into the bathroom and change into clean clothes.
I grab the phone from under the sink and find where we are on google maps. I text Will where we are and smile. We're getting out of here.
