NINETEEN: COMPROMISE"How is almost married life treating you?"
Thor wiped sweat off his brow and took a deep breath, dropping Stormbreaker from his hands and leaning against a random tree. It was getting much colder as the weeks passed, but it was also unexpected as the temperature fluctuated almost every other day.
Because of that, Sòl's pregnancy became a little complicated. She was sick on and off, and it kind of stressed them all out, but besides all of that, Thor and Sòl were enjoying the process of becoming parents. Sòl was so eager to prepare for their baby's arrival—which was several months away—and Thor was ready for their little family to be complete. Soon after, they'd be finally married.
"It's not bad, actually," he answered, picking up his axe again, "but it's difficult to care for someone who thinks they have it all under control."
"That's Sòl for you," Brunnhilde said, chopping one last piece of wood and huffing in annoyance. She had a lot of wood for the citizens of Asgard, but of course Thor was a show off, his pile being over seven feet tall while she had a little less than half of that. In her defense, she knew he was going to get carried away and therefore refused to over exert herself.
"Her being sick is...odd," he continued, piling the last of the firewood in the crate his horse Sparky and Brunnhilde's Ace were attached to.
"How so?"
"Well, the healers are busy going back and forth still trying to preserve what was left of what they took from Asgard. Everything is from scratch, and it takes a while. And of course earth doesn't have the proper medicine."
Val crossed her arms, looking at her sword. "Well, do any of your superhero friends have anything? What about the short one?"
"Stark?" Thor made a face, "I doubt it. I haven't even spoken to them since I killed Thanos."
"Yikes," she grimace, remembering that was almost over three years ago.
"And it would be rude to, after years of not seeing him, to ask for something. Who does that?"
"Yeah that's actually rude," she agreed, walking beside him as they walked into town to deliver firewood, "I guess we just have to let her rest."
Thor scoffed and shook his head. "Yeah, okay."
She laughed, her grin falling when she looked ahead and saw Sòl talking to Korg and Miek near a fruit stand. Thor was already frowning, crossing his arms as they approached the trio.
