TWENTY FIVE: ALL OF THE STARS

Sòl was very happy her princess was such a...princess.

As in, she liked being pampered and loved on, kisses and rounds of peek-a-boo all day, still drinking from her mother's bosom, and enjoying every second she spent with her father playing in dirt outside. She was barely a year old, and her standards were high, her mind bright and accustomed to what love was and looked like. Magnolia didn't care where she was, as long as she got the attention she wanted. She was a fearless little baby.

Because of this, Sòl allowed Miek into her home once again. Since the incident with a baby a few years ago, Sòl knew she wasn't bringing Maggie around him until he learned he could not just stab small children and expect praise.

He learned, though, quickly, because as punishment Sòl had stopped cooking for him, which honestly broke his little heart. Miek was a creature who had fully matured but was still primitive in behavior. His body moved faster than his mind, and he still had animalistic instincts that had never been domesticated. All Sòl asked was for her child not to be harmed.

Now that he learned and now that Maggie was old enough to at least attempt to let anyone know what was wrong, Miek had calmed down with his harmful ways. He loved Sòl's and Thor's baby, so much that he always came by to visit on his own, and even sat beside her as she napped. He was very protective of the little one, and Sòl appreciated it a lot.

Sól spotted the two in the living room, playing some game Miek made up where every time Magnolia poked him, a part of his body jutted out animatedly; the gurgling and purring intensified every time she laughed. Magnolia was a thrill seeker, because she was such a curious baby and liked things that seemed scary. Miek looked menacing even when he wasn't in his combative form and was this cute, squishy, purple thing. Thor didn't understand the appeal, but Maggie ate it up every time he stopped by.

"Here," Sòl handed Miek a red popsicle, to which he greatly appreciated. Magnolia saw this and immediately began whining, making grabby hands at the other blue icy treat in her mom's hand. "None for you," she joked, backing up just a little, challenging the baby girl to stand. Maggie was almost a year old and getting closer to walking every day. She could stand and hold onto things for as long as she wanted, and she even took steps as she held on, but never by herself. Sól wanted to change that today.

Maggie whined louder, resting on her stomach before getting up slowly and standing to her feet, her shirt riding up to expose her little belly. She had taken her pants off earlier because her father conditioned her into neglecting any type of clothing. Sòl was lucky whenever she was able to keep her diaper on.

"Come on," Sòl beckoned in that high pitched motherly voice, holding the blue popsicle in her hand and waving it a little, "work with mummy, I know you can walk for me. Please?"
