Each foot step becomes heavier as I get closer to him. Emma and Kate give me a slight push towards him and because I'm nervous I almost stumble to the ground. Be calm, Issy. He can't see me as his back is turned as he's talking to Shaun. I don't want him to see me just yet but Shaun being Shaun advises Andy that someone's behind him so I'm first to face this sooner.
He turns around. The first thing I see are the big blue eyes.
I open my mouth to speak, not a word comes out. I swallow.
"...Hi" I finally mutter.
His eyes don't leave mine as he replies. "Hey". I feel his strong hand lace through one of my delicate ones. "Come with me for a second?" He pleads.
I nod my head as he drags be to the back door of the venue.
It's a starry night. The moon is full, its beautiful but Andy tears my attention away from the sky immediately.
"I'm stupid" he says.
"No you're n-"
He places a finger over my lips as if to tell me to hush. "It's my turn to speak now".
"The other day, when I shook your hand and agreed to being friends. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
It's not what I wanted at all. I just didn't think you wanted me in that way anymore. So I'm sorry Issy. I like you a lot and I'd love it if you'd give me a second chance."
At first I thought I was dreaming. This stuff only happens in dreams. But it is happening. The boy I've had my eye on since I've moved to this school is really saying this to me.
He moves his face to my ear slowly. "Please?" He whispers. His breath on my neck sends shivers from the top of my spine to the bottom.
"Of course" I whisper back in his ear. The heaviness of his breathing stops as all of the stress and doubt leaves his body.
I feel his arms gently wrap around my small waist, I rest my hands on his solid chest. His lips hover over mine. He's purposely teasing me by not coming closer, he looks down at my lips and my hunger takes over.
I kiss him, and I feel his grin on my lips. We have to break apart due to the fact that he started laughing at my eagerness. I laugh too. Then he softly kisses my lips once more, and then again.
I gaze in to his eyes for a little while, completely in some sort of trance. His eyes how ever, still on my lips.
"You don't know how long I've waited to kiss you" he states, nearing closer. I can't help but bite my lip in desire.
We are disturbed by the swinging open of the back door by Shaun and Emma. Way to ruin a moment. But what makes this okay is that tonight I'm the most content I've been in a long time.
"It's really late Issy, we should go. My mum will freak!" Emma yells to me.
I nod at her in agreement.
I say goodbye to Andy and he pulls me into a tight hug.
"See you tomorrow" he says to me as Emma and Kate basically drag me away to the car.
I don't ever think I've ever experienced a better night than tonight.
