The sun peeked over the horizon as a figure could be seen riding off as fast as the horse could gallop. The rolling hills were covered with a layer of bright green grass and a stone castle perched upon a small hill in all majesty. The landscape was something like a picture you would see in a fairytale. The figure, however, was not your usual fairytale character, but a princess with too much time on her hands. She high-tailed it towards her home at a steady, speedy gallop worried her parents would wake up and find her out of her safe place. Her cape rustled in the wind and her hood covered her face. She finally made it to the entrance before jumping off the black shire stallion and running through the tall wooden doors. The guards eyed her curiously, but were used to her charades and unable to question the young lady in charge. The girl slowly tiptoed Into into the rock home and turned to close the door quickly and silently. The door shut and before she could turn around she heard someone clear their throat behind her.
"And where have ya been young lady"? The queen asked from behind her adventurous daughter.

Just a note, the accent of this country is similar to scottish.

"Your mam and I have been worried sick". Her father stated sternly. The princess turned to face her parents.

"Mam, Dad...I hope ya slept well......I sure did." The girl replied awkwardly as she unbuttoned her red cloak and hung it onto the coat rack in the small maid's closet. Her auburn locks were partially braided, making a crown around her head and the rest flowed loosely over her shoulders. Her emerald green eyes peered intently at the king and queen and she tried to maintain a very awkward smile. The queen facepalmed at her daughters reply.
"Why do ya have to be so rebellious. You will be queen one day and it will be your job ta rule the country". The woman stated with a worried expression written over her bright blue eyes. She was a petite woman with her daughters auburn hair usually pinned in a tight bun. She wore a golden crown most of the time with her favorite pale blue dress. She looked at her husband for help. He was tall with dark brown hair and a full beard along with emerald green eyes.
"Harold, please tell er". The queen stated calmly.
"Darlin, ya know in a few short months you will be crowned queen. I expect ya to quit adventuring and take full responsibility for yer actions. Now, as ya know and I'm guessing the reason for this outburst is because of the suitors coming today. You will marry one of em and you will be crowned queen in two months. Until then I expect ya to be on your best behavior." He said sternly.
The girl admitted defeat and nodded her head before turning and walking slowly to her room.
It's not that I don't want to be queen...because I do. Well...it's my duty. It's just. I have everything. I have my choice in suitors, a lovely home, loving parents and the future title as queen. So why do I feel like I'm missing something.

The princess thought to herself as the held onto the fluffy pillow on her king sized bed. While it seemed as though she had everything, she lacked something she had craved for a very long time...adventure. The entire reason for her nightly escapades.

I know just what I'll do. I'll run away for a short month before the wedding and coronation. It will be perfect. I'll leave tonight...if I can survive the suitor meeting today that is. I'll journey into the great wood and go on a true adventure. Then I will return home and take the crown as queen of Pferdland.
"Princess Scarlett, the queen has sent me to get you ready for the suitors". Her thoughts halted as a maid entered the room holding a bright green gown and other items.
"Yes of course". The princess replied before trudging over to her maid.
